Footium (official site) switches on its Training Centre on Wednesday 4 November, the day pre-season for Season 25 begins. The football management game already has two club-building systems, Stadiums and Academy Upgrades, and this is the third. Your matchday MATCH $0.00000197 ▼ -1.5% depends on the stadium and your intake depends on the Academy. The Training Centre is for the players you already have.

There are five facilities: the Coaching office, Recovery suite, Main pitch, Gym and Changing rooms. They all launch at once. Upgrades cost FC, which is also what you spend on stadiums and academies, and you collect it from home matches and end-of-season rewards.

How the facilities work

Standard rating training hasn’t changed: it uses unlocked potential, condition and time to push up a player’s positional ratings. The Training Centre adds a layer above it. Every facility handles its own part of training and can be levelled from 0 to 5. Choose a facility, spend the FC and it climbs one level, just like a stadium stand or an academy building.

At Level 0, standard rating training works exactly as before, so building nothing doesn’t stop you training. Your two default slots and your coaching slot stay in place. None of the facilities adds rating-training slots, increases total potential or alters the potential formula. At Level 1, the Gym and the Changing rooms each unlock their own attribute slot.

Costs don’t vary by division. If you own a Division 8 club, you can build a training ground to Division 1 standard. Caretaker clubs are locked out of facility actions and effects. You buy upgrades one level at a time, and each listed price covers a single upgrade, not the cumulative total. The first levels are cheap enough to dip a toe in, but the upper levels take far more FC. No upgrade order is enforced, so you can prioritise whatever your squad needs.

Recovery suite

Upgrading the Recovery suite cuts how much condition a rating-training session uses. In practice, condition is the real cap on training. Each session drains a player, and anyone who would fall too low is blocked from training. The amount of condition your squad can afford to lose sets how many sessions you get through in a week.

The first upgrades only shave off a bit. By Level 5, a standard rating session drops from 25 condition to 17, which is a 32% saving. Stamina and leadership sessions cost a fixed amount of condition and get no benefit. Match readiness and available potential still have to be balanced against training.

Main pitch

Upgrading the Main pitch makes rating-training sessions shorter. While a player is training, they can’t be picked until the session is over, and the more potential a player has already spent, the longer each session runs. Your most developed starters are therefore the ones stuck off the pitch longest.

The cut is taken from the whole normal session length, extra time from used potential included. Level 2 trims 20%, with total construction costs of 45,000 FC. Condition cost and rewards stay the same, and stamina and leadership sessions remain at 2 h 30.

Coaching office

Each season, the Coaching office hands out free coaching sessions. They land in your club’s balance once a season, after pre-season processing completes, and they run through the coaching slot you already have. No extra slot comes with the office, and session rewards are unchanged. Coaching sessions still pay out what they do now, 90 accumulated minutes per completed session included.

Build or upgrade the office mid-season and the extra sessions show up immediately. You receive the gap between your new entitlement and what you’ve already been given that season, or the whole entitlement if you haven’t received any yet.

Gym and Changing rooms

These two facilities bring in training that didn’t exist before. Stamina and leadership have been set when a player is generated, so until now you could only get more of either by signing a player who already had it.

At Level 1, each one unlocks a single attribute-training slot. Finishing a session gives +1 to that attribute, always takes 2 h 30 and always uses 10 condition. Upgrades to the Recovery suite and Main pitch leave those figures alone. Attribute sessions don’t affect positional ratings, use no potential and give no accumulated minutes. Every player has a seasonal allowance for each attribute, and the allowance is tied to the player, not the club.

The Gym unlocks a stamina slot. Stamina controls how quickly a player’s condition drops during a match. It has carried much more weight since Season 22, because fatigued players are the ones who pick up injuries and rotating the squad is now part of management. Wingers, full backs and players used in a mentality are hit hardest. Stamina training can begin at a low Gym level and continue as the building improves. Every Gym level caps further gains, but a player who is already over that cap doesn’t lose any stamina. Players keep their gains if they’re transferred or the facility is downgraded.

The Changing rooms unlock a leadership slot. Only the captain’s leadership is used, but it sets the size of the boost the whole side receives. So you can hand the armband to the player you prefer and train their leadership up to the job. Level 2 has total construction costs of 25,000 FC and permits up to 2 leadership sessions per player per season. Leadership can be trained up to 99 at any enabled level. As with the Gym, gains survive a transfer or a downgrade.

Timing and maintenance

Stamina and leadership training for pre-season starts on Thursday 5 November 2026 at 13:00 UK time (GMT) and stays open for the rest of the season. It doesn’t cover all of pre-season. Normal rating training, coaching sessions included, runs from the first matchday through to the last, and new rating sessions can’t be started while it’s shut. Upgrades take effect at the start of a session, so a player who is mid-session when you upgrade only sees the benefit on their next one.

If off-season attribute training is turned on at the break-start reset, every player’s condition is lifted to a minimum of 70. Anyone already above 70 stays where they are, so this isn’t a full reset to 100.

Facility levels persist between seasons. Upgraded buildings may need maintenance, and each one is shown as healthy or needing maintenance. When work is due, the FC cost appears in the Training tab. You can pay it any time before the season ends, and the facility keeps running in the meantime. Season 25 has no maintenance roll; the first takes place when Season 26 begins.

You’ll find the Training Centre in the Training tab, split into Sessions and Facilities views. Footium describes the current numbers as launch values. The team plans to track training activity, squad condition, player development and FC spent on facilities, and says it will explain any balance changes. Feedback is being gathered on Discord and through the end-of-season survey.
