Funtico retires TICO, launches PLAYR token on Robinhood Chain

funtico retires tico launches playr token on robinhood chain In Brief:

In Brief:

  • Funtico has retired its TICO token in favor of PLAYR and shifted its ecosystem onto Robinhood Chain, according to a Nov. 8, 2026, announcement the studio posted on X.
  • @funtico_com said PLAYR debuted on Uniswap v4 with a market cap of roughly $3.2 million. A snapshot of TICO balances on Avalanche was taken when the token’s FDV stood at $160,000.
  • TICO holders outside the platform must migrate before 00:00 UTC on Feb. 1, 2027. According to Funtico, TICO will not be used in any of its products or services from now on.

TICO is out at Funtico. PLAYR, the studio’s replacement token, is now trading on Robinhood Chain, and the Avalanche-based predecessor no longer has a place in any Funtico product.

A five-post thread from the @funtico_com account on Nov. 8 laid out the change. “Funtico is evolving. TICO becomes PLAYR,” the first post read, describing the switch as “a strategic move to Robinhood Chain and the evolution of our native token.”

🚀 FUNTICO IS EVOLVING. TICO BECOMES PLAYR.
/1 Big things are happening at Funtico. We're taking our ecosystem into a new era with a strategic move to Robinhood Chain and the evolution of our native token, TICO -> PLAYR!
Why? Because we believe the next generation of gaming…

In its bio, the account calls Funtico “a game studio and publisher.”

Launch figures

According to the thread’s second post, PLAYR launched on Uniswap v4 and was “sitting at a ~$3.2m MC at the time of writing this.”

The studio said it has renounced ownership of the contract, sharing a Robinhood Chain explorer transaction to back that up. The liquidity tokens “will be burned next week,” it added.

Funtico published the contract address as 0x775FD5a987bf3ff5e205DEABDe6634ddceE3a3FC.

How the migration works

Holders fall into two groups. For players who already have a funtico.com account, the thread said they “just have to login and claim them.”

Anyone holding TICO in a wallet outside the platform needs to go through a migration. On Nov. 4, 2026, at 14:00 CET, Funtico snapshotted all Avalanche wallet balances of TICO on AVAX. The studio put TICO’s FDV at $160,000 when the snapshot was taken.

No TICO-to-PLAYR conversion ratio appeared in the thread. Funtico sent holders to migrate.funtico.com for the process, where it said live support is on hand. Migration closes at 00:00 UTC on Feb. 1, 2027.

On the fate of the old token, the studio left no room for doubt. “The TICO tokens will NO LONGER be used within any of Funtico’s ecosystem products and services,” the third post said.

What PLAYR is for

The studio named six areas where the token will be used on Robinhood Chain. Among them are publishing infrastructure, bringing new games and developers on board, and esports markets operated through Lucky Funatic that combine “competitive gaming, outcomes, and token-powered participation.”

Funtico also pointed to AI features, EVM compatibility that opens access to DeFi and trading apps on the chain, and “multiple buyback mechanics.” According to the thread, PLAYR’s role will grow across “gaming, rewards, earning, marketplace transactions, and ecosystem incentives.”

At playr.funtico.com, a dedicated page lists uses including in-game purchases, marketplace transactions, micro-payments for AI inference, tournaments and a Publisher-as-a-Service product for developers. The page says “50% of any purchased Bundle goes towards $PLAYR buybacks!”

Per the same page, PLAYR is available on Uniswap with ETH or USDG on Robinhood Chain, while Bundles can be paid for in USDC, USDT, SOL, ETH, BNB, BTC and AVAX. There’s no total supply figure or tokenomics breakdown on the page.

Funtico said the page carries a DEX purchase widget plus a “How To” section written for web2 users, walking through each step from buying PLAYR to depositing it on the Funtico platform.

The pitch

Funtico presented the move as a step toward publishing infrastructure and a broader audience.

“We don’t want to be just another gaming platform,” the thread said. “We want to double-down on the infrastructure that helps games launch, grow, monetize, and reach their full potential, while connecting players, communities, developers, and holders through one unified economy. All of this while expanding our horizon and business models towards the Web2 natives and monetization funnels.”

“PLAYR is more than a new ticker,” it continued. “It’s the economic layer powering that vision.”

The studio says new games, platform features, buyback programs and partnerships are already in place, but it gave no dates for any of them. According to the final post, they “will be showcased in future posts.”

Background

TICO’s token generation event took place in January 2025. The token started out as an ERC-20 on Avalanche C-Chain with a fixed 10 billion supply and was later bridged to Ethereum, Polygon and Base. It began trading on Jan. 27, 2025, on Gate.io, MEXC Global, BitMart and Uniswap.

Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum layer 2 that runs on Arbitrum’s Orbit stack. Its public testnet opened in February 2026, and mainnet went live on July 1, 2026. Anyone can deploy on the chain, so a token’s presence there doesn’t mean Robinhood endorses it.

Within hours, the thread had picked up three replies. Its closing post signed off with thanks: “We appreciate everyone’s patience and support throughout the last couple of months – Funtico needed a new home to grow into and reach its true potential!”
