That conclusion comes from a new report on the group responsible for the leaks, which has reportedly liquidated the meme coin it had been promoting all week. The logic is simple enough: no money left in the pot, no incentive to keep uploading footage.
Where the money went
The findings were shared by GTA Forums user Vit Cit, who has spent recent days digging into the identity of the shadowy group behind the GTA 6 leaks. By Vit Cit’s account, the same account that dumped several Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay clips online has now reportedly sold off the cryptocurrency it was pushing alongside that footage.
“I’m going to post a more detailed post later but after digging through the transactions roughly $268K was withdrawn from the transaction fees for $CYBERLEEK. The money was then divided up between 4 transactions and sent to various wallets that ultimately ended up in three different places,” Vit Cit said.
Three final destinations, split across four transactions. That kind of paper trail usually points to someone winding things down.
Why one forum sleuth thinks it’s over
Vit Cit also laid out the reasoning behind his belief that the GTA 6 leaks have run their course, at least for the moment.
“CyberLeek moved over $250,000 across the blockchain tonight so here we are. I expect this to be the final part to this investigation as it seems CyberLeek may be done and has decided to cash out and let their meme coin free fall,” he said.
A caveat is in order here. This is independent research published on a fan forum rather than a confirmation from any of the parties involved, and neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two has verified any of it.
Nobody has actually said they’re stopping
