Helium Network has successfully migrated to Solana, causing quite the buzz. The move was officially announced on April 19, and let’s say the future’s looking bright for Helium.

It all started last September when the Helium community got together and voted “Heck yeah!” to the migration plan. Fast forward a few months of blood, sweat, and tears, and voila, here we are!

Noah Prince, the head of Protocol Engineering at the Helium Foundation, gave us a little sneak peek into the migration magic. He shared, “Helium developers grabbed a snapshot of the old blockchain, then loaded the needed transactions onto the new blockchain.” He also added that “the contracts are totally permissionless and on-chain.”

But hold your horses, it gets even cooler! Helium went on an NFT-minting spree as part of the migration, creating almost a whopping 1 million NFTs. Each NFT represents one of the physical hotspot nodes chugging along on their network. If you’re a Helium-supporting hotspot owner, you’re in for a treat!

To score your NFTs, just pop into the wallet linked to your hotspot, and bam – you’re golden!
