Man City Launches New NFT Collection with OKX, Promises More Drops

Manchester City FC, in partnership with cryptocurrency exchange OKX, launched a new NFT collection titled ‘Unseen City Shirts NFT’ that sold out in less than five hours. This collection features a unique football kit design that has never been seen by the public before. Given the swift disappearance of the initial drop, the club has announced a forthcoming batch set to release on April 29.

The first series, ‘The Roses and the Bees, ‘ is available exclusively on the OKX NFT marketplace and includes designs that resonate deeply with local fans. The NFTs not only represent a piece of digital art but also offer the possibility of owning the physical jerseys depicted in the designs.

Exciting Prizes and Exclusive Access

The release structure of the NFTs included several tiers of prizes, adding to the allure. Owners of the Ultra-Rare NFTs will receive an actual ‘Roses and the Bees’ kit, a chance to play at Etihad Stadium, match day tickets, and more. Those who secure Rare NFTs will enjoy hospitality perks, a tour of the stadium, and their jerseys. Regular prize tier holders get the collectible alone.

Christian Jeffery, a noted kit designer, was behind these visually appealing NFTs that incorporate symbols like the red Lancaster rose and the worker bee—icons emblematic of Manchester’s heritage and resilience.

Ongoing Collaboration and Future Prospects

The successful partnership between Manchester City and OKX, which started in March 2022 and saw OKX become the official sleeve sponsor of the club, underscores the potential for further innovative projects. The quick sellout of the initial NFT drop highlights the high demand among fans for these unique digital items.
