Netmarble’s Marblex Blockchain Migrates to Immutable, Onboarding AAA Games

Netmarble's Marblex Blockchain Migrates to Immutable zkEVM

Netmarble, a well-known South Korean gaming industry player, has announced a significant strategic shift for its Marblex blockchain platform. The platform will now migrate from Klaytn to Immutable zkEVM, onboarding exciting AAA games.

Migration of Assets and Games

The transition will involve migrating all assets, including those from three prominent web2 games with web3 integration: “Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds,” “A3: Still Alive,” and “Meta World: My City.” This migration is expected to streamline operations and provide a more robust environment for both existing games and future developments.

“At MARBLEX, we are committed to building exciting web3 gaming experiences for players,” stated CEO Hong Jin Pyo. “To maximise the reach of these experiences and ensure scalability for both existing and upcoming titles, partnering with a proven leader in web3 gaming was crucial. That’s why Immutable and their industry-leading zkEVM chain was the right choice. Their technology provides the infrastructure we need to deliver the best possible gaming experiences to our players.“

Strengthening Core Offerings

Following a series of experimental launches in 2022 and 2023, which did not achieve sustained engagement, Netmarble is refocusing on its core offerings. The move to Immutable zkEVM is part of a broader strategy to stabilize and grow the platform. In addition to the games, Marblex includes the MBX token, a wallet, a decentralized exchange, token staking features, and an NFT marketplace, all of which will benefit from the new ecosystem.

As a commitment to their new direction, Netmarble and Immutable will jointly invest $20 million into the Ecosystem Boost Program. This initiative is designed to provide financial and technical support to developers, aiding them in creating and scaling web3 games on the new platform.
