In Brief:
- Nexpace wrapped up its Vibe Camp program, spotlighting projects that creators built with MapleStory (official site) IP and the Verse8 AI platform.
- Altogether, 230 games cleared the quality bar, sharing $59,580 in NXPC tokens spread across several categories.
- Functioning as both a contest and a pipeline for nurturing talent, the camp sits within the MapleStory ecosystem.
Vibe Camp winners announced
Running from June 8 to 29, the Vibe Camp has now had its winners revealed by Nexpace. Throughout the program, creators were free to draw on MapleStory intellectual property as they built games atop the Verse8 AI platform — an approach that drew a wide mix of participants, even those with no coding background.
Creativity flowed freely during the event, and 230 games ultimately met the camp’s quality threshold. Collectively, participants took home $59,580 in NXPC tokens. Before any prize was handed out, each game passed through a demanding vetting process featuring judging, anti-abuse screening, and a concluding review that blended internal scoring with feedback from the community.
Top honors recognized
Rising to the top were five Campfire winners, each rewarded with the equivalent of $3,000: Alphabet Defense, Helena Survivors, Night Lord Survivors, REVENANCE, and Say Cheese, Yeti! Ranging in genre from tower defense to photography challenges, these titles were measured by how well they held onto players and drove engagement.
Half of a project’s evaluation score came from internal assessment, and community voting accounted for the remaining 50%. Judges weighed originality, fun factor, and general quality. Separate categories celebrated other kinds of achievement, handing $2,000 apiece to Slime CEO: Monsters Go to Work Today! and Trade Hero for serving as valuable references for builders down the line.
Celebrating community engagement
On top of that, 50 games earned Top Traffic prizes of $500 each, determined by logged play counts. Under the wider True Camper program, every one of the 230 qualifying games was acknowledged with rewards of differing sizes, all paid in NXPC tokens. To claim their funds, recipients are required to complete identity verification.
Beyond putting fan creativity on display, the initiative positioned these prototypes as genuine commercial ventures. Chosen creators will be backed in areas like game design, in-game economy, and marketing, reinforcing Vibe Camp’s standing as a talent-development engine within the MapleStory universe.
Taken together, the outcomes point to a fruitful meeting of well-known IP and generative development tooling. It’s a model that hints at bright prospects for both game creation and community participation, as the Nexpace team keeps pushing these ideas forward through its MSU 2.0 effort.
