Mythical Games has announced the Season Kickoff in NFL Rivals to celebrate the game’s second anniversary.

The event introduces 33 new player cards, a redesigned weekly event schedule, and a Power Pass, all of which will run until September 25.

Since its release, NFL Rivals has reached over seven million downloads, making it one of the most successful web3 sports titles to date.

New Player Cards Across All Teams

The highlight of the Kickoff is the introduction of 33 player cards, covering every NFL team. Two cards are classified as Mythical, featuring Brock Bowers and Brian Burns. One of these rare cards is available in ultra-limited packs, while the other must be earned through gameplay.

In addition, players can unlock eleven Legendary, ten Epic, and ten Rare cards throughout the season. Notably, the Kickoff does not include any Common cards, reflecting a focus on scarcity and collectible value.

Weekly Events and Rewards

The event schedule has been restructured to balance steady progress with high-value challenges. From Monday to Thursday, weekly currency events allow players to gather resources through consistent play.

From Friday to Sunday, Chase Events offer greater rewards for those looking for a competitive push. At the end of the Kickoff, a final Mythical Event will be available to top-performing leagues, closing the season on a competitive note.

Power Pass and Simplified Crafting

Alongside the Kickoff, players can purchase a four-week Power Pass. It includes gems, tokens, packs, and one exclusive Legendary card. Crafting mechanics have also been streamlined. Players can now convert Common cards and upgrade Rare cards more efficiently, a move designed to improve accessibility and reduce repetitive grinding.

Mythical Games has emphasized that these changes were driven by community input and past experience. “We’ve cleaned things up, locked in on what works, and built a kickoff program worthy of the grind,” a spokesperson explained.

CEO John Linden also underlined how years of development have helped the team refine the balance between accessibility and competitiveness in NFL Rivals.
