Ultimate tier items arrive in Nine Chronicles
Nine Chronicles has pushed Version 200490 live, raising the ceiling on item progression with Grade 9, a tier called Ultimate. Players can now upgrade their equipment using items drawn from Summon and Synthesis, a meaningful expansion of the game’s economy.
Five categories make up the Ultimate tier: Runes, Auras, Grimoires, Costumes, and Collections. On the rune side, four new Ultimate Runes are split between Skill Runes, which grant active effects in combat, and Stat Runes, which raise a character’s base stats. The split opens the door to a range of different builds.
Alongside the runes, the patch adds four new Ultimate Auras and nine new Ultimate Grimoires, the latter being the biggest single addition in this release. Each Grimoire comes with its own skill effects, making them key for anyone fine-tuning a combat approach. Rounding things out are two new Ultimate costumes.
Collections built for the long haul
The update goes beyond items players can grab right away: Version 200490 also adds 20 new Collections. Five are linked to the new Auras, 12 to the Grimoires, and three to the Costumes. Finishing a Collection awards permanent stat bonuses, giving players an extra reason to invest in the new tier.
There are two routes to Ultimate items. Summon offers a chance to pull new items outright, while Synthesis lets players merge lower-grade items they already own. Having both options means players can choose between spending directly and progressing step by step.
A busy summer of updates
Two major releases earlier this summer preceded this patch. Version 200460 delivered Bifrost Reforged, an event dungeon with 12 exclusive collections and bonus mechanics, and Version 200470 overhauled the Adventure Boss system by adding a new resource, Distorted Essence. Those earlier versions broadened gameplay options and added collections linked to in-game achievements.
In other news, Nine Chronicles has boosted its presence across the wider gaming ecosystem. Players are now able to check their NCU connection status, which displays linked accounts and quest details. Future updates will refresh portal purchase missions, with NCG Vouchers making a return.
