For that same stretch, the update triples the mileage players earn. The 3x Mileage Event is tied to the event dates, and reaching any of it requires updating the client first.
How mileage works
Mileage is the loyalty currency that builds up as players make purchases in the mobile shop, credited at eight points per dollar under the standard rate. That balance carries across every planet in the game and can be used on all of them save for Thor.
The points cash in for exclusive, limited-edition cosmetics — largely costumes and titles — among them Mythic-grade titles offered in the Mobile Shop’s mileage tab. Tripling the rate for the run of the event effectively discounts those items for anyone who spends during the window.
From Bifrost Gate to Reforged
Bifrost Reforged comes after Bifrost Gate, the previous event dungeon Planetarium rolled out in update 200430. That earlier version featured 12 collections plus two event-exclusive materials, and its purpose was to supply players with the rare materials they needed to advance through Hard Mode.
Those Bifrost Gate collections dished out stat boosts geared toward higher-level play, laid out much like the earlier Ruby Dust Vault event. Clearing every one of them required both dungeon runs and package purchases. The same release also lifted buff caps, trimmed synthesis costs and patched launcher problems on PC.
By adding a single collection to its predecessor’s 12, the new dungeon brings the tally to 13. Beyond the collection count and the mileage promotion, Planetarium has yet to spell out how Reforged’s materials or rewards diverge from the original Bifrost outing.
The game and its token
Nine Chronicles is Planetarium Labs’ decentralized MMORPG, rooted in Norse mythology and powered by Libplanet, the studio’s in-house Layer 1 engine. Its mainnet launched in October 2020, and the game arrived on mobile about a year before its latest roadmap.
The economy revolves around Nine Chronicles Gold, which serves as both the in-game and governance token, while Wrapped NCG acts as the ERC-20 bridge to external markets. Players stake NCG for in-game perks such as AP potions and hourglasses, and put it toward crafting, trading and combat. According to the whitepaper, the total supply stands at 1,000,000,000 NCG.
Ahead of the token’s debut, Planetarium raised $2.6 million in a round led by Animoca Brands. The studio has since indicated it intends to release more games built on the same NCG token and Libplanet tech through 2025, positioning the token at the heart of a broader lineup rather than one lone title.
The client update is available now, and Bifrost Reforged wraps up on Aug. 23.
