Japan’s leading gaming blockchain, Oasys, has recently announced a strategic partnership with South Korean tech company SK Planet, a subsidiary of SK Telecom.
SK Planet is one of South Korea’s top IT companies and will now serve as Oasys’ newest validator. This means that users will be able to stake OAS tokens directly to the SK Planet node from their wallets, as SK Planet’s wallet service UPTN Station is set to integrate with Oasys Hub. Moreover, UPTN Station will also integrate into games on Oasys L2 chains.
The main goal behind this partnership is to attract more users to web3 games by leveraging SK Planet’s extensive user base. SK Planet’s OK Cashbag, affiliated with 75,000 stores and has 28 million members in the South Korean market, will be tapped into for this purpose.
This collaboration will create a new channel designed for gamers. Additionally, UPTN Station’s upcoming community features will expose users to a variety of gaming content on Oasys, with campaigns aimed at enhancing user engagement in Web3.
Jung Incheul, the team leader at SK Planet, expressed his optimism about the partnership, stating, “We hope that this business agreement will allow customers to enjoy the web3 environment more easily and conveniently. We expect great synergy in the future as we combine the capabilities of both companies, such as introducing Oasys network’s content IP to customers through the UPTN Station.”
Oasys director Daiki Moriyama also shared his excitement, mentioning that the partnership will revolutionize web3 adoption in South Korea. Game developers will have access to a broader platform for exposure, while gamers can enjoy a wider variety of content.
