Oh Baby Games has officially launched Bam Bam Boom as a free-to-play title, making its 2D platform fighter available on Steam and the Oh Baby Games app.
The release follows an Early Access period and brings new content, online PvP, and local multiplayer support. Players can jump in immediately at no cost and enjoy fast-paced matches across multiple modes.
A Fighting Game for All Play Styles
Bam Bam Boom challenges players to knock opponents off the stage to secure victory. The game supports single-player, online competitive play, and local free-for-all battles for up to six participants. Local multiplayer requires at least one additional controller, with full six-player matches needing five extras. The accessible setup allows both casual play sessions and intense competitive matches.
New Content and Gameplay Updates
The launch introduces a new playable fighter named Smolting, alongside several performance improvements. Updates include refined input options like right-stick smash bindings, plus settings for V-Sync and custom frame rate selection.
Progression in the game revolves around earning BBBOXes from Ranked matches and character unlocks. These boxes contain cosmetic items for characters and their props, with duplicates tradable on the developer’s website. Cosmetics act as the main progression layer while keeping gameplay access completely free.
Community Features and Access
Players can stay connected to updates and events through the OBB Mobile app on iOS and Android, or by installing the studio’s desktop launcher. Steam users can immediately download the game without cost, making it easy to join friends in both online and local matches.
Alongside the Bam Bam Boom launch, Oh Baby Games has opened Steam wishlists for two future titles. Pawker, a deckbuilding roguelike centered on cat adventurers, is planned for September 2025. Torii, another upcoming title, targets a Q1 2026 release. Both projects aim to expand the studio’s reach while maintaining active support for its platform fighter.
