Official Launch of Otherside

Yuga Labs, a key player in digital and NFT markets, is preparing to unveil its highly anticipated Otherside metaverse on November 12. This will introduce the Koda Nexus, a central hub designed to serve as a primary gathering point and foundational element of the Otherside. The platform is constructed to expand progressively, integrating new games and areas that enhance the overall user experience.

User Accessibility and Engagement

The Koda Nexus launch emphasizes accessibility, allowing users to enter the hub without requiring digital wallets or NFT ownership. However, holders of an Otherside land NFT will experience added benefits, such as enhanced connectivity to the Nexus and the ability to activate Koda characters. This phase also marks the beginning of the metaverse’s resource generation system, setting the stage for continued expansion in future releases.

Collaborations and New Content

In line with the metaverse’s opening, Yuga Labs is set to broaden user customization options through new avatars. In collaboration with Amazon Gaming, the Boximus avatar will make its debut on October 30. Additionally, Daniel Arsham, the lead designer for Otherside, will release a limited edition set of 300 avatars, providing an exclusive collectible aspect to the platform.

Support for Third-Party Creators

Yuga Labs remains committed to cultivating a vibrant and creative ecosystem within Otherside. The company is promoting the use of the Otherside Development Kit (ODK), which provides vital tools for third-party developers to design distinctive experiences within the metaverse. This initiative has already enabled the creation of varied game modes like the 8v8 shooter “Bathroom Blitz” and a zombie survival challenge named “Outbreak.”
