Where the game stands

Outer Ring is currently in Beta 0.1.0. The game is free to play on Windows 10 and newer, and its battle royale mode is live.

According to the official site, the current build includes five playable factions along with battle royale, arenas, dungeons and missions. Players can also visit the Great Silver City and Fanet locations and use Galactic Foundry crafting. Outer Ring runs on Unreal Engine 5.

The patch’s emphasis on matches and tournaments lines up with the short-term roadmap posted on the site. That plan includes balance patches shaped by beta feedback, additional arenas and missions, expanded progression and crafting, and wipes where necessary. The developers have said any wipe will be announced in advance.

Longer-term roadmap items include a full-scale persistent open world, new regions of the Ring and larger-scale faction warfare.

Trading and the economy

Trading sits at the heart of the game’s design. Through the game’s dapp marketplace, players can trade weapons, armor, land vehicles and space vehicles, and the team has already rolled out the Underground Market for trading materials.

The official site points to more than $209 million in BG Marketplace volume and more than 37,000 tokenized items. It calls the Blink Galaxy economy optional and states that the game isn’t pay-to-win.

The game’s token setup has changed several times. Earlier documentation names Exocredits (EXO) as the in-game currency and Galactic Quadrants (GQ) as the governance token as well as a second in-game currency.

In September 2025, the project said GQ would remain inside Outer Ring, while $BG would power the Blink Galaxy Blockchain.

The GQ to BG swap

Blink Galaxy, which is developed by SOREDI GAMES, unites Outer Ring, Racerloop and the Blink Galaxy hub under $BG. Gameplay runs on SKALE, while $BG launched on Base for liquidity.

The $BG token covers governance, marketplace fees and discounts, partner incentives and player rewards. Players do not use it as a gas token.

The token generation event was scheduled for Dec. 1, 2025, with the DEX listing coming first, and mainnet was planned for Jan. 1, 2026.

In the swap program, holders stake their GQ, which is then burned, and BG is distributed linearly over six months. The baseline rate is five GQ for one BG, though the rate is locked each month according to GQ’s market price and a BG reference price.

The project offered an example: if GQ was trading at $0.001 on Jan. 1, 2026, everyone participating in January would receive one BG per 60 GQ. BG obtained through the swap vests linearly from July through December 2026.

Background

Outer Ring’s alpha went live on Aug. 24, 2025, and the game has received monthly updates ever since. Its earlier design featured battle arenas ranging from 200-player matches down to guild arenas, with rewards based on weekly leaderboard rank and plans for esports tournaments.

A disclaimer from the project notes that Nexxyo Labs and Windex Technologies OÜ may make economy changes that directly or indirectly affect how players earn Exocredits or Galactic Quadrants.
