Proof of Play, the studio behind Pirate Nation, has officially launched its new PVP mode alongside a major event called Legend of Anubis. The mode offers players the chance to win from a 10 million PIRATE token prize pool, currently valued at over $500,000.
The event runs for two weeks and marks a shift from the game’s traditional season-based system to a format centered around short, high-stakes challenges.
Legend of Anubis: A New Competitive Format
Unlike previous seasons, the Legend of Anubis introduces a more intense format with set timelines and pre-announced rewards. Players can now engage in PVP battles to earn trophies and climb a new leaderboard system. Winning battles increases a player’s rank, while losing causes a drop in trophies — adding a layer of risk and urgency to every match.
What makes this system unique is that rewards unlocked by climbing the leaderboard are permanent, meaning players don’t lose previously earned items or perks even if they fall in rank later on.
On-Chain Battles and Fair Matchmaking
All gameplay in Pirate Nation is fully onchain, meaning every win, loss, and transaction is recorded transparently. This not only ensures fair competition but also allows anyone to verify event outcomes. The game also uses a native matchmaking system that pairs players with similarly skilled opponents, making matches more balanced and competitive.
To keep the competition clean, Proof of Play has introduced stricter rules against exploitative or suspicious behavior during events. While the company didn’t directly mention bots, it made it clear that violators will be disqualified from receiving rewards. These measures aim to protect legitimate players and maintain fairness throughout the event.
