In Brief:
- Pixels introduced Tier 5 (T5) on April 15, featuring 105 new recipes, specialized crafting and resource industries that only function on NFT Lands, and an updated Deconstruction system.
- T5 industries require Slot Deeds exclusive to NFT parcels, each offering 20% of a parcel’s T5 capacity for 30 days and need Preservation Runes for renewal.
- The existing Tier 1-4 industries are unaffected by the new tier, continuing to operate alongside the new systems.
Introduction of Tier 5
On April 15, Pixels launched a significant update by adding a new Tier 5 to its expansive game. This tier introduces 105 fresh recipes, a slot-based land system designed exclusively for NFT lands, and a revamped deconstruction mechanic that enriches the game’s strategic crafting economy. Tier 5 industries are structured to complement rather than compete with existing Tier 1-4 setups, with the added benefit of generating surplus for landowners on T5 crafted items.
Slot Deeds and Land Capacity
At the heart of the T5 update are the Slot Deeds, available for purchase at the Pixels HQ Store in Terra Villa. These deeds, which are split between those for Crafting and Resource-Giving industries, allow players to utilize 20% of their NFT parcel’s T5 capacity. The deeds have a 30-day validity and require a Preservation Rune for renewal, which can be crafted and traded among players. Should a deed lapse without renewal, any industries exceeding the parcel’s capacity will cease production until the issue is resolved either by reducing the number of setups or acquiring a new deed.
Revamped Deconstruction System
The update renamed the existing ‘The Machine’ to ‘The Deconstructor’, stationed at the Ministry of Innovation. This facility now accepts specific industries and deconstructs them into materials necessary for crafting T5 tools. Utilizing a Hearth Fragment, garnered at a high player level, the system now outputs between two to five items ranging from common to rare materials, crucial for later-stage crafting processes.
New industries and Upgrades
Tier 5 not only improves the game’s depth but also expands its breadth by introducing new industries such as Master Metalworking, Woodworking, Stoneshaping, and specialized kits like the Estate Winery Kit. Alongside these, Resource-Giving additions like Verdant Soil and the Hammeroot Tree have emerged, elevating the complexity and variety of resources available to players.
Enhanced Game Elements
Further enhancing the gameplay, wineries now feature across all tiers with specified caps, and fishing rods have been tiered to scale from T1 to T5, affecting the type of fish a player can catch and the rod’s durability. Moreover, significant adjustments have been made to the experience points (XP) earned through forestry, improving the rewards for logging at different tiers.
Additional Updates
Beyond these major changes, smaller adjustments were integrated to improve the player’s experience. These include the modification of quest levels, extended timers for offerings, tweaks in animal care, and the addition of new tasks and contracts. The balance changes span across 80 existing recipes, impacting the overall crafting dynamics. Notably, sushi boats have become edible, and new sushi-specific tasks have been added to taskboards, among other updates.
Pixels’ Tier 5 expansion delivers a nuanced layer of strategy and variety that promises to enrich the player’s engagement and the overall dynamism of the game’s eco-system.
