Ronin has officially announced the launch of Phase 2 for Fishing Frenzy, a mobile RPG that has already surpassed 9 million downloads.

This new phase brings an expanded in-game economy, integration with blockchain features, and NFT-based rewards, aiming to deepen user engagement through decentralized gameplay mechanics.

Fishing Frenzy now runs on the Ronin network, enabling a new level of interactivity for players. Key in-game items like fishing rods, fish, and treasure chests can now be minted as NFTs and traded on the Ronin Market. This development introduces true ownership of assets and a player-driven economy.

New Game Features and Reward Systems

Players can now convert their in-game catches into cooked meals, such as sashimi, which can be exchanged for pearls. These pearls are then used to spin a rewards wheel, where players earn Frenzy Points, off-chain points that will have value in future updates. A competitive leaderboard system has also been added to reward top players.

The update introduces two types of passes: Battle Passes and VIP Passes. These give players access to exclusive NFTs and provide reward multipliers. While optional, these passes enhance the game for players who choose to invest more deeply in the ecosystem.

Players who participated in the game’s initial phase and owned pets or chests will receive special emblems. These emblems will unlock additional future rewards, giving early adopters a reason to stay engaged as the game evolves.
