Sky Mavis lines up Atia’s Legacy Playtest 4 and Terrariums V1.2 for the returning Lunacian Lounge

sky mavis lines up atias legacy playtest 4 and terrariums v1 2 for the returning lunacian lounge In Brief:

In Brief:

  • According to Sky Mavis, the upcoming Lunacian Lounge is set to run through Atia’s Legacy Playtest 4 updates, Terrariums V1.2 and work in progress that hasn’t been announced.
  • This marks the first public mention of a fourth playtest for the Axie MMO. The third one closed out at the end of June following four days of PvP-only sessions.
  • The most recent documented release is still Terrariums V1.1, the update that introduced accessories, land items and Fortune Slips. Nothing has been published in the way of a V1.2 changelog.

Sky Mavis has confirmed that Atia’s Legacy Playtest 4 and Terrariums V1.2 will both feature in its next Lunacian Lounge, putting a name to a fourth round of MMO testing the studio has not otherwise spelled out.

“Lunacian Lounge is back and there’s a lot to talk about,” the team said in the announcement, which laid out three agenda items: Playtest 4 updates, Terrariums V1.2 and “What’s cooking behind the scenes.”

No changelog exists for either the playtest or the Terrariums version. Rather than separate documentation, the two have been rolled into one Discord session.

What Playtest 3 left behind

Running across four days, the third playtest cut everything back to real-time PvP alone. Sessions lasted five minutes with eight players, and victory went to the first to 10 kills — or, once time expired, to whoever held the best kill-to-death ratio.

Instead of leaving matchmaking open, Sky Mavis hand-picked six sessions over the four days, a move meant to keep queues short while testing whether servers would hold under load. The run ended on June 30 with a session limited to Mystic owners.

Purpose-built for the mode, the map offered bushes for cover and walls that broke line of sight. Randomly spawning mushroom power-ups handed out one of three buffs when picked up — movement speed, attack damage or HP regeneration — and sometimes all three at once. Those buffs stacked and lasted until death, and killing a buffed opponent transferred half of what they were carrying.

Balance work centred on five weapons — axe, dagger, tome, bow and lantern — corresponding to tank, assassin, marksman, artillery and mage playstyles. Alongside it, a side competition named Trial of Eight staged three prize events in Dojo with 2,500 bAXS on the line.

Terrariums has shipped twice since June

Terrariums V1 arrived June 17, replacing Homeland, and the first earning tick came through June 19 at 07:00 UTC.

It’s a short loop: activate a plot, assign Axies, burn Lunium on every tick and collect bAXS by the hour. Only the Axies sent to the Atia Shrine generate Atia’s Flame and earn bAXS, while the remainder sit in the Dojo building up AXP. How much of a fixed hourly pool per land category each plot receives comes down to Flame, and rarity sets the figure — five for a normal Axie, 1,000 for a Mystic. Capacity runs to 30 Axies on owned plots and 10 on free ones, though free plots earn no rewards at present.

Early July brought V1.1, which allowed as many as five accessories per Axie, up to eight land items on a plot, and Fortune Slips that boost Flame by 10% for 24 hours. Evolved parts followed on July 15. To make room for items, the map was expanded — groundwork, the studio has said, for a later update that would let buildings and objects be repositioned.

Sky Mavis has characterised the design as “gamified staking that respects your time.” Later versions could bring grand expeditions, guild treasure hunts and boss battles, all of which have been floated. Support for delegated Axies didn’t make V1 and was deferred to a future release.

The format

The Lunacian Lounge takes place on the Axie Discord Stage, usually at 11 p.m. Philippine time. Recapped Feb. 6, Episode 3 brought together Jihoz, Jase, Shade, Cruise and Pos2 to discuss how the Axie economy has evolved, offer a first look at PvP, and explain the choice to sunset Homeland in favour of Terrariums. The March 24 edition dealt with Codex Season 1, Playtest 2 updates and the plan for handing out invites.

Access to playtests is still invite-gated. Preregistrations number in the millions, per Sky Mavis, with thousands having played across the earlier rounds.

Background

Roughly 1,000 participants took part in the opening playtest, which ran Sept. 25 to Oct. 2, 2025 on iOS TestFlight and Android APK. Restricting it to mobile was a deliberate choice ahead of a PC build, with a global launch aimed at 2026.

Combat was rebuilt for Playtest 2 around one Axie equipped with a basic attack, an ultimate and a dash, and Auto Combat was dropped altogether. That round additionally introduced a 10-stage dungeon, five weapons and a pair of bosses.

Across the PvP work, one detail from Playtest 3 has held: every Axie in the build shared identical stats, Mystics included, with no passive skills and no stat variation coming from parts.
