Soneium, the Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain developed by Sony Block Solutions Labs, has announced the launch of Soneium For All, a new incubator program designed to support web3 developers.
The initiative focuses on helping teams build and scale gaming and consumer applications on the Soneium network. Applications opened on June 9, with selected projects expected to go live from August 2025.
The incubator is designed to support promising projects facing challenges such as user growth, scalability, and visibility. Selected teams will gain access to a fully operational blockchain ecosystem that already supports over 7 million users and handles more than 1.5 million transactions per day. Soneium currently hosts several well-known IPs, including Solo Leveling, Seven Deadly Sins, Ghost in the Shell, and Sony’s robotic pet aibo, highlighting its strong entertainment ties.
Strong Partnerships and Technical Support
“Soneium For All” is built in collaboration with Astar Network and Startale Cloud Services. These partners will offer infrastructure support and a shared grant pool totaling $60,000. Projects that incorporate the ASTR token as a utility or payment feature will be eligible for funding. This collaboration is designed to give developers a robust starting point and reduce time to market.
Beyond technical and financial support, participants will receive mentoring from the Sony Innovation Fund. This relationship may lead to follow-on investments, giving startups the opportunity to grow within the broader Sony ecosystem. Additionally, accepted projects will benefit from wide promotional exposure through Soneium’s channels, including its blog, livestreams, and campaigns.
Commitment to Global Creators
According to Ryohei Suzuki, Director at Sony Block Solutions Labs, the incubator aligns with Sony’s broader mission to empower creators and lower barriers to entry in web3. He stressed the importance of fast user adoption and easy developer onboarding.
Maarten Henskens, Head of Astar Foundation, added that more than 40 projects already use ASTR within Soneium, and that this incubator is a natural continuation of that growth. He confirmed Astar’s ongoing commitment to supporting consumer and gaming dApps that expand the utility of ASTR in the Soneium ecosystem.
