Sony Network Communications, Startale Labs Pte Ltd, and Astar Network, the multichain smart contract platform, have announced a Web3 Incubation Program Demo Day set to take place on June 18, 2023. The much-anticipated event will be held both offline and in the Metaverse, offering participants an opportunity to immerse themselves in the event irrespective of their geographic location. Part of the official line-up for Japan Blockchain Week, the Demo Day will showcase an array of innovations from projects involved in the incubation program. Each project will have the opportunity to pitch to venture capitalists and corporations looking to foster ties with promising Web3 startups.
Sota Watanabe, the founder of Astar Network, expressed his excitement for the upcoming Demo Day, saying, “These top teams launched on Astar are ready to build Web3 solutions with Sony Network Communications. Demo Day will be the space for passionate groups to connect in Japan and grow their Web3 vision.”
Out of more than 200 applicants, 19 projects were selected to be a part of the incubation program. The selection was based on the suitability of each startup’s technology, team, and product appeal. Throughout the program, startups have benefited from learning sessions with global venture capitalists and successful Web3 companies, as well as valuable mentoring on business and technology development strategies.
As a gesture of goodwill, offline attendees will receive a non-transferable NFT issued by Lemonade. This unique SoulBound Token (SBT) commemorates the event and allows attendees to experience project technology firsthand. Due to the overwhelming demand for the event, tickets will be distributed via a lottery system rather than on a first-come, first-served basis.
Online participants aren’t left out, either. They will receive an NFT pass issued by Snickerdoodle Labs to attend the Demo Day staged in the COSMIZE Metaverse. Snickerdoodle Labs will also showcase its technology as one of the candidates for the Web3 incubation program.
The Demo Day promises not only to exhibit the progress made by the projects involved in the incubation program but also to offer a platform for networking and potential future collaborations.
