Elixir Games, the Web3 PC games distribution platform, has announced a strategic partnership with none other than Square Enix, the renowned game publisher. Talk about leveling up!
You might recall that last December, Square Enix joined forces with Sino Global Capital in co-leading Elixir’s seed round. The Japanese giant is no stranger to the blockchain game space, recently launching its web-based experience, Symbiogenesis.
Launched back in 2021, Elixir’s been making waves, supporting both web2 and web3 PC games. To sweeten the deal, users can even link up their Epic Game Store and GOG accounts, giving them access to multiple marketplaces from one slick client.
While Square Enix hasn’t spilled the beans on exactly how they’ll be collaborating with Elixir, it’s clear that big things are on the horizon. Elixir CEO Carlos Roldan can hardly contain his excitement, commenting, “This partnership brings us closer to web3 gaming mass adoption. Our team is incredibly excited to bring our technology to work.”
Roldan’s already got his eye on the future, predicting that Elixir users will play web2 and web3 games seamlessly without noticing the difference. 2023’s seen some major industry players jump on the web3 gaming bandwagon, and Roldan expects that trend to keep rolling as the year goes on.
He’s made it clear Elixir’s all about that growth, saying, “We’ve put all efforts to ensure we are ready for scalability.” So, gamers, buckle up because the Elixir Games and Square Enix combo is ready to take the web3 gaming world by storm!
