A point-and-click horror title about a man stuck somewhere he was never meant to be has arrived on Steam at no cost. The name is SSTWL – Sector Breach, and anyone who has spent time in the dark cycling through security feeds while hoping the battery lasts will recognize the loop instantly. Fans of Five Nights at Freddy’s will clock the shape of it right away.
It’s one of six titles Steam has just folded into its free library. Every one of them is free. Not one is a demo hiding a paywall at the finish line.
The visual novel that wants five hours of your life
Tyrania Enforcers clocks in at roughly three to five hours — a genuine commitment for something that cost you nothing. Hand-drawn cutscenes and a handful of minigames are scattered throughout, so an afternoon here isn’t purely tapping through text boxes.
Should five hours feel like too much, Cosdarica’s Journey at the End of the World is the alternative. It’s post-apocalyptic, also a visual novel, and the whole thing wraps in under an hour. Two very different appetites, both catered to.

Lost Vessel is a sci-fi idle RPG built around combat and crafting. Idle games are the genre most likely to quietly swallow a week of your evenings, and this one shows up with a spaceship aesthetic and enough systems to keep pulling you back.
You already know whether this is for you. Idle RPGs don’t have a middle ground.
A diner on Route 66, and it’s yours
Road Diner Simulator: Prologue drops a run-down diner on Route 66 in your lap and tells you to run it. The prologue label means this is a slice of something bigger — but the slice is free, and the setting carries plenty of weight by itself.
Whether a management sim works comes down to whether the setting makes you care about the spreadsheet beneath it. A dusty American highway diner is a strong opening move.
Bring four friends and shoot some zombies
Codename CURE II is a zombie co-op FPS designed for squads of up to five. It’s the least surprising name on the list and likely the one you’ll sink the most hours into, since co-op shooters hold up well when the price is nothing and your group chat is bored on a Tuesday.
What this batch actually tells you
The range is the interesting bit here. Visual novels, horror, an RPG, a simulator, co-op action — all landing at the same moment, all free. That isn’t a curated theme. It’s a snapshot of what small developers are making right now when they choose to ship something without a price attached.
