The Sandbox has recently announced the acquisition of Romanian studio QED.
The studio, now rebranded as The Sandbox Romania, has been working as an external partner for over two years before formalizing the acquisition.
Founded in 2019 by Ioana Verebi, Vlad Temian, and Marius Bălaj, the 17-person team is based in the western city of Timișoara, making it The Sandbox’s 13th office location worldwide. The company has other offices in major cities like Hong Kong, Seoul, Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, and Paris.
Sebastien Borget, the COO of The Sandbox, expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “We’ve built a strong relationship with the QED Founders and their team. They bring exceptional technical expertise and leadership that consistently shines through in their execution and proactive approach to shaping and enhancing future versions of The Sandbox.”
QED co-founder Ioana Verebi also shared her excitement about the collaboration, mentioning, “The Sandbox is at the forefront of decentralization, blockchain, and technology. We’re excited to join forces to help shape a groundbreaking virtual world that fosters creativity, collaboration, and community.”
