The partnership will establish a mutual presence in each other’s virtual worlds, whereby Upland will build its headquarters in The Sandbox on a 6×6 LAND and The Sandbox will get an exclusive neighborhood in one of Upland’s cities. To celebrate the launch, The Sandbox and Upland will be running a joint design competition that will spotlight the creativity and talent of both communities. Creators can submit designs for Upland’s HQ in The Sandbox or voxel-styled structures to be built exclusively in The Sandbox neighborhood in Upland. 

The partnership’s initial phase also aims to build and incentivize the two communities to explore and discover both platforms. The Sandbox will conduct an exclusive drop of its neighborhood’s virtual properties in Upland to LAND owners. “Uplanders,” as the community on Upland is known, will have the chance to win SAND and exclusive NFTs by completing tasks in The Sandbox.

Details and timeline of the partnership, including the design competition kick-off and the location of The Sandbox neighborhood on the Upland map, will be unveiled at Upland’s in-person Genesis Week live event. Representatives of The Sandbox and Upland will share insights about the partnership and its future vision at a fireside chat during the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas on June 7th. To celebrate the partnership and invite participation from The Sandbox community, The Sandbox will offer a limited number of tickets for free to LAND owners in the nearby area.
