Timelines and Deadlines
The event starts today, August 14th, with game submissions due by August 27th, 3 PM UTC. After a thorough evaluation period, winners will be announced in a grand Live Awards Ceremony on Twitch, scheduled for September 23rd, 6 PM UTC. Missed the ceremony? No worries! Winner announcements will also be made on Discord and Twitter between September 24th and 25th.
Entry Protocols and Criteria
Participants must ensure their games are crafted using The Sandbox’s Game Maker software (version 0.8.6). The platform has laid down specific guidelines for game creation, including playability, originality, and thematic adherence. Importantly, copyrighted material is prohibited, and entries must be unique. Games are expected to offer at least five minutes of engaging gameplay, and the use of certain assets is restricted to maintain fairness and authenticity.
Judging will consider creativity, design coherence, gameplay quality, and an overall ‘Wow Factor.’ The Sandbox staff, The Council, and potentially partner judges will manage the evaluation process.
