After a 26-year absence, the Wayans brothers made their return — and among the first orders of business was taking a jab at Christopher Nolan.
Having already finished its theatrical run, Scary Movie 6 arrives today, July 21, on digital platforms for rental or purchase. To celebrate the release, the Wayans unveiled a pair of new posters aimed squarely at two of the season’s biggest films.
One skewers Obsession, a theatrical and box-office success. The other goes after The Odyssey, Christopher Nolan’s film that debuted last week.
The posters are the whole bit
Anyone who’s tracked this franchise already knows how it works. Scary Movie has built a long-running tradition of releasing posters that lampoon whatever’s dominating the moment.
IT got hit. Weapons did too. And so did Get Out. By now, the parody artwork has essentially become its own marketing genre.

The plot, or what passes for one
Here’s the setup. Twenty-six years after fleeing a suspiciously familiar masked killer (“Ghostface”), the Core Four find themselves targeted once more, and no horror film is off-limits.
Marlon Wayans (“Shorty”), Shawn Wayans (“Ray”), Anna Faris (“Cindy”) and Regina Hall (“Brenda”) come together again for the latest Scary Movie. Returning familiar faces are joined by newcomers who tear into reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything carrying the word “legacy,” and every so-called “final chapter” that never really ends.
Nothing is off the table. Not a single cliché makes it out. Every line gets crossed.
The money’s already in
Its theatrical release brought in $230 million. Now it shifts to digital, available to rent or buy as of today.
