Ubisoft has announced that its tactical multiplayer game, Champions Tactics: Reforged, is coming to Steam, opening access to a wider gaming audience as Season 3 begins.
While a specific launch date has not been confirmed, players can now wishlist the game on the platform. The update brings new gameplay improvements, story expansions, and system adjustments aimed at deepening strategy and player engagement.
Season 3 Brings Gameplay Tweaks and Story Expansion
Season 3 builds on the game’s turn-based format, where teams of three Champions battle using precise formations and ability combinations. This season introduces refinements to champion abilities, combat pacing, and squad building. These changes are designed to add more depth to tactical decision-making without changing the core mechanics that current players enjoy.
The game’s story also expands with a new chapter in the Grimoria universe, further developing its fantasy world. Although the main rules remain the same, Ubisoft has committed to adjusting the balance and improving performance based on player feedback.
Competitive Play and Seasonal Rewards Continue
Ranked competition remains a key feature of Champions Tactics, with players earning progression based on match outcomes. Season 3 includes new seasonal rewards, although Ubisoft has not yet shared full details about what players can expect. These updates are part of the company’s ongoing plan to support the game as a competitive, evolving experience.
Steam Launch Aims to Grow Player Base
Bringing the game to Steam represents a major step in increasing visibility and attracting new players. The Steam version will include online multiplayer, achievements, in-app purchases, and Ubisoft Connect integration. It will support 12 languages, including English, French, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese.
Minimum system requirements list 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960, while recommended specs suggest a GTX 1660 or better.
No Mention of Blockchain Features in Steam Version
Although previous game versions included blockchain elements like NFT-based Champions, the Steam listing does not mention any Web3 features. Ubisoft has not confirmed whether blockchain assets will return in the future. More information is expected through official updates and Steam announcements in the coming weeks.
