Championship Details
The highly anticipated YMIR Cup World Championship, co-hosted by Wemade and tech giant Razer, is slated to take place at the end of February. This premier event will be hosted at the state-of-the-art Southeast Asian headquarters of Razer in Singapore. Competitors who have proven themselves in the preliminary league matches, held each Friday until February 6th, will battle it out in the immersive MMORPG environment of Legend of YMIR, a game that operates on Wemade’s WEMIX blockchain platform.
The culmination of the championship will feature a “Legend Match,” where the newly crowned world champion will face off against the victor of Korea’s 2nd YMIR Cup. Michael Kim, the head of game business at Wemade, expressed his excitement for the event: “From enthusiastic participation in the Legend of YMIR Partner Server system to all the passion in action during the Server Battles, we are heartened and honoured to have witnessed the organic growth of this community. We are beyond excited to see this energy and momentum continue in the lead-up to the YMIR Cup World Championship, and with Razer’s support, we look forward to empowering our best players around the world to come together and compete at the highest standards.”
Competition and Community Connection
In an innovative move, Wemade has furthered the engagement of the Legend of YMIR community by introducing the ability to operate custom servers. Despite their initial price tag of $20,000 to $30,000, the first ten server slots were quickly sold at a public auction. To accommodate growing interest, Wemade expanded the server types available, adding Mini, Lite, and Origin variants which offer different sizes, operational styles, and pricing options. These server operators can earn up to 15% of their server’s monthly revenue with a guaranteed minimum of $1,000, while managing in-game economies and orchestrating events.
A Continuing Digital Saga
Wemade continues to expand the reach of Legend of YMIR by engaging in promotional partnerships and evolving global strategies. Recent marketing initiatives include in-game asset bundles created in partnership with Razer, featuring exclusive digital content such as Disir companions and bonus Legend of YMIR points. These efforts are geared towards integrating the player community more deeply into the game’s narrative and economic systems, ensuring sustained engagement and investment in the virtual world crafted by Wemade.
