In Brief:

  • The third Hyper Summer update for MapleStory N goes live on July 23, introducing the Will boss along with Cursed Spellbook equipment.
  • On July 18 — five days ahead of the patch — MapleStory Universe kicked off this weekend’s Maple Weekend login rewards.
  • This release wraps a three-part season that brought in the Adele, Ark and Hoyoung classes, the Arcana and Morass lands, and a level cap of 275.

Scheduled for July 23, MapleStory N’s third Hyper Summer update will roll out the Will boss encounter and fresh Cursed Spellbook equipment.

The patch is “just 5 days away,” MapleStory Universe noted in a July 18 post, which simultaneously launched Maple Weekend — a stretch of special login rewards running through the weekend.

What the update adds

Will is the centerpiece of the release, and the encounter arrives with a Will First Clear Event that hands rewards to the earliest players to defeat the boss.

Beyond the Cursed Spellbook gear, the patch also introduces new Arcane Umbra parts, while the fifth skill trees receive their fourth update in the same drop.

The rest of Hyper Summer

With July 23, the trio of updates that formed the season comes to a close. Each landed about three weeks apart.

The opening update, on June 11, brought the Adele and Ark classes and raised the level cap to 275. It unveiled Arcana — an Arcane River zone centered on the Arcane Symbol and the Spirit Savior activity — and hosted the Tera Burning event, which paired two Giga benefits with a Bonus White Cube and a VIP Membership event.

Next came the July 2 update, delivering the Hoyoung class and the Morass land.

Taken together, the three patches tallied three new classes, four new lands and the raised cap. A fourth update has been teased without a date, naming Esfera, Sellas, a reworked character selection screen and V Matrix improvements.

Gear that trades

Equipment here matters for more than its stats. Any drop bearing the mintable icon can be turned into an NFT and sold on the MSU Marketplace, meaning a gear tier such as Cursed Spellbook plugs straight into the token economy.

NESO and NXPC power that economy. By hunting monsters and clearing bosses, players collect NESOLET, which they mint into NESO to spend, trade or enhance gear. NESO then converts to NXPC — the broader MapleStory Universe token — at a fixed rate said to be 100,000 NESO for 1 NXPC.

As the debut title on the MapleStory Universe platform, MapleStory N is built on Avalanche and offers gas-free trading through its marketplace.

For the moment, the studio is nudging players toward the weekend giveaway before the drop. “Grab this weekend’s special login rewards and share your biggest hype below,” MapleStory Universe said.
