All of this ships in version 0.45.0. The release notes say the build contains “the v0.45.0 game updates and a realm-wide release gift.”
The release gift
The patch notes spell out the gift: “existing Claudemoon characters receive one available appearance redesign, and their normal and heroic dungeon and raid lockouts are reset.”
Players can move their characters onto the new models at no cost, and their instanced content starts fresh.
What changed
A new art pack, which the team calls WOC, brings updated character models to all nine classes. Humanoid enemies now use the same bodies. The developers also hand-keyed new animations for movement, autoattacks, combat stances and abilities.
Several dungeons had their boss encounters remade on the new art-guide bodies, among them the Hollow Crypt, Sunken Bastion and Drowned Temple. Five dungeons were moved onto authored open-air fields. Each five-player dungeon now comes with a boss guide and an objectives tracker.
Eastbrook is now a Studio map with painted Tidehold buildings, and players can walk inside them through open doorways.
In Mirefen, the tavern can be explored on foot and has seats, patrons and ambient sound. Painted mudfin huts were added to the area too. Highwatch’s guild headquarters, Lantern Hall, uses the game’s painted world style.
The interiors needed a few passes. According to a pull request on the project’s GitHub, playtesters found that Highwatch’s five painted buildings “read small next to a player,” and the chase camera went through walls indoors. The team responded by porting the walk-in interior camera from the Mirefen tavern work and scaling each building so its door stands at about 5 yards, matching the tavern.
Two mounts arrive with the patch: the Nightwing Chimaera and Wobbles the Slime. The update also brings world PvP bounties linked to the kill feed and a Studio map editor with terrain tools. On the back end, the notes mention membership infrastructure and a Stripe webhook relay.
Steam page live
Levy Street Games is listed as both developer and publisher on the game’s Steam page. The game is free to play, its release date shows “Coming soon,” and the listing mentions in-app purchases, cross-platform multiplayer, Steam Achievements and leaderboards.
According to the store description, it’s a classic-style micro-MMO with nine classes, classic-era combat formulas, a quest world spread over three zones, five-player elite dungeons and a ranked 1v1 arena.
Background
Levy Street is based in Wellington, New Zealand. The studio used Anthropic’s Claude Fable 5 to build the first playable version of World of ClaudeCraft in roughly 48 hours. The repository was published on June 10, 2026, and the game opened to the public on June 12.
The code is released under the MIT license, but that license doesn’t cover the name or branding. As of Oct. 19, the studio said, the project had 2,303 GitHub stars, 732 forks, 60 contributors and close to 20,000 commits. Players had created 91,094 characters on the live server.
New characters begin in Eastbrook Vale and chase a Gravecaller conspiracy north, through Mirefen Marsh and into Thornpeak Heights, where Highwatch is the hub. One shared world connects every version: the browser client at worldofclaudecraft.com, desktop builds for Windows, macOS and Linux, and the iOS and Android apps. The game is available in 22 languages.
Its TypeScript core also doubles as a Gymnasium environment for training AI agents.
Andreessen Horowitz partner Justine Moore described the project as “a fun look at the future of vibecoding real games.”
