The acquisition from tech company Improbable encompasses an Unreal Engine-based platform crucial for developing Otherside, a blockchain-based metaverse linked to the BAYC universe. Slated to conclude early next year, this deal includes acquiring numerous developers and engineers from Improbable.
Greg Solano, co-founder of Yuga Labs, emphasized the importance of this development, saying, “We move much faster and [can] invest more directly in creators.” He revealed this strategic move on social media, highlighting the acquisition’s potential to significantly enhance Yuga Labs’ operational capabilities by integrating a perpetual license for Improbable’s advanced concurrency technology, which allows for the smooth support of a substantial number of concurrent users across multiplayer platforms.
