At zero cost, thirteen Ubisoft titles have effectively doubled their portability.
A newly announced Microsoft–Ubisoft partnership goes live today for anyone who owns an Xbox console. Already purchased one of the eligible games digitally? Its PC counterpart is now yours for free via the Xbox App on PC.

What you actually get
Only a defined set of games qualifies, so it’s worth confirming yours is included before getting excited. Both Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla made the cut — reason enough to pay attention if you poured 60 hours into Eivor’s saga and would prefer running through it again at a higher frame rate.

More Ubisoft is landing on the Xbox App too
According to Microsoft, additional Ubisoft content is heading to the Xbox App on PC as well, Premium Editions and DLCs among it. It’s the less flashy portion of the news, and also the piece hinting that this is less a one-time promo than Ubisoft properly making itself at home on Microsoft's PC storefront.
Ubisoft’s own post put it plainly: “Ubisoft x XBOX leveling up PC for some of Ubisoft’s biggest games. Free PC access for owners of digital XBOX console games like Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, The Crew Motorfest, Riders Republic, and more. Premium editions and/or add on content now available on XBOX PC.”
The catch, and there is one
The street goes one way only. Microsoft confirmed there’s no transfer in the opposite direction, so whatever Ubisoft games sit in your PC library stay there. None of them will make the trip to an Xbox console.
Which means anyone who has been picking up Far Cry 6 or Skull and Bones on PC all this time gains nothing. The benefit here belongs entirely to console buyers.
Why this list is more interesting than it looks
Consider the composition. There’s The Crew 2 alongside The Crew Motorfest, a pair of live-service racers whose success hinges on precise input. There’s Rainbow Six Siege, where milliseconds of mouse-aim advantage decide competitive matches. Riders Republic falls into the same bucket.
In each case, switching to keyboard and mouse alters the way you actually play, not merely how the game looks. By giving these away to console players, Ubisoft is wagering that players stick around longer when they can play on their preferred setup.
The outlier is Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, a 2D Metroidvania that’s perfectly happy on a controller regardless of platform. Claim it regardless.
Go look at your library. Should Watch Dogs Legion have gone untouched on your Xbox since 2020, it will now go untouched on your PC as well — which is, at least, a slightly better spot for it to gather dust.
