Take a close look at those palm trees. That pattern isn’t printed onto the plastic.
Sony and Rockstar have shown off a GTA 6 accessory that genuinely deserves to be called premium, and the detail doing the heavy lifting is one you really need to hold in your hands to appreciate.
The pair have teamed up on new GTA 6 DualSense controllers, offered in either black or white.
The Vice City color story
Both versions feature the VI logo alongside palm tree patterns, finished with a blue and purple gradient lifted directly from Vice City’s aesthetics.
Then there’s the touch that sets these apart from the usual licensed controllers left to collect dust on a shelf. Those palm tree patterns are embossed into the shells, which not only looks sharp but may also improve the grip.
What it costs and when you can get one
Pre-orders open on PlayStation Direct on September 10, with the controllers themselves landing on November 19.
The asking price is $84.99, likely a reflection of the premium styling on offer.
The disc question nobody has dropped
Handsome premium accessories, no question. The catch is that plenty of players would love to pair one with a disc copy of GTA 6.
Rockstar has already confirmed there are no plans for a disc release on PlayStation. The requests keep coming anyway, and it’s difficult to believe the studio hasn’t clocked that its fans are still asking.
Which leaves a shelf holding a controller with palm trees pressed into it, and no case to stand alongside it.
