In Brief:
- Two additions landed in Tollan Universe simultaneously: a Loot Pass built around earning Abstract Stamps, and a gated mode called Champions’ Arena.
- Crowns now send 85% of spending into the Weekly Pool and Jackpot, an increase from the 75% the two pools had been splitting between them.
- Play is now divided into Competitive and Casual modes, and both carry ETH and Crown prize pools.
Announcing that its Loot Pass and Champions’ Arena had gone live, the Tollan Universe team also confirmed that the slice of Crown spending returned to players has climbed to 85%.
That percentage is the standout detail of the release. Previously, Tollan’s own documentation described a split in which 50% of every Crown spent went into the week’s prize pool and another 25% into the Jackpot — 75% across the pair. How the new 85% is distributed between those two buckets wasn’t spelled out in the announcement.

What the Loot Pass does
In the studio’s words, the Loot Pass is “a more efficient way to earn Abstract Stamps” — the ecosystem points that build up as players complete runs. Neither a price nor a duration was published.
Stamps have pulled players toward Tollan since the game went live, and the studio has reached for that lever before. Its Week 16 update, announced April 10, doubled the Abstract Stamps coming from bonus enemies and chests, pushed the Jackpot to $15,000 and widened ETH rewards to cover the Powerboard’s top 150 players.
Two modes, one gate
Competitive and Casual are the two modes introduced by the update, and each comes with ETH and Crown prize pools attached. Before this, Tollan's lineup consisted of a free Practice mode offering stamp rewards, plus Seasonal play and weekly leaderboards.
Access to Champions’ Arena is restricted. The post says entry follows clearing 15, but goes no further on the remainder of the entry requirement or on what the Arena actually pays out.
Crowns continue to serve as the in-game currency. Players acquire them either by spending ETH or by working through quests and social features, with whatever isn’t fed back into the pools funding the rest of the economy.
The numbers behind the pools
Weekly results published by Tollan offer a sense of the scale this percentage shift applies to. The studio reported for Week 17 on April 27 that payouts topped $13,500 across the prize pool, jackpot and referrals. The same report tallied 35,335 reward chests dropped — free Stamp Boxes included — along with 253 jackpots claimed and 7,994 runs played.
Heading into the week after that, $19,000 was accumulating across the Jackpot and Prize Pool.
Rather than being capped at a set amount, those pools expand in line with spending. The weekly prize pool opens at 1 ETH and swells as Crown purchases come in — the reason the old 50/25 split, and now the 85% figure, carry more weight than whatever total a given week happens to post.
Background
Tollan Universe launched on Abstract on Dec. 1, 2025, and is free-to-play across PC and web. The format is bullet-heaven roguelike: each run is about outlasting as many enemy waves as you can while collecting and upgrading elemental powers, triggering shrines and taking down bonus enemies to push your score higher. Its sci-fantasy world centres on Tollan Peak, where humans wield elemental and mycelium powers against orc hordes.
Randomness in a run — chest drops and jackpot rolls among them — is handled through Proof of Play’s verifiable randomness system.
The monetization model has been reworked more than once. A Gold Pass costing 500 Crowns featured in early seasons, mandatory for entry to the Season 1 event and bundled with five free Crystals each day plus 10 Crystals at purchase. A VIP Pass and a Hunter’s Badge took its place in later seasons. Holders of Genesis Avatars receive weekly VIP perks at no cost.
The studio’s documentation also cautions that pricing and the economy may be adjusted week to week, and that features are liable to be introduced, altered or withdrawn as development rolls on.
At the time of the announcement, the VIP Pass and Hunter’s Badge were still the entries under the Purchases section of those docs. A Loot Pass listing had yet to appear.
