S19 launches with bAXS rewards
Origins S19 is now out, and it is a major change to how Axie Infinity runs its competitive play. This season, 80,000 bAXS in total will be split among the top 2,000 players. Of that amount, 20,000 bAXS is set aside for the Rare Era by itself.
S19 is also the first season to officially use bAXS as its main reward currency. bAXS is a utility token that cannot be transferred and is backed 1:1 by AXS. Because it can’t be moved the way AXS can, the economic value it carries stays inside the Axie ecosystem. Players can put bAXS toward breeding and staking. Anyone who converts it back to AXS pays Treasury fees, which scale according to the player’s Axie Score. The idea is to reward players who stick around for the long term over those who only play briefly.
New era schedule
S19 runs on the following competitive calendar:
- September 30: Rare Era
- October 14: Epic Era
- October 28: Mystic Era
- November 11: Final Era
- November 25: S19 Ends
There is also a bonus on top of the regular payouts. Players who own collectible Axies and hit Tiger rank or above in the Rare Era can earn collectible chests. Each chest holds tickets that can be redeemed for a share of the 10,000 bAXS prize pool.
Maintaining fairness
This season, Axie Infinity is putting extra weight on competitive integrity and has added measures to make sure rankings are legitimate. Era rewards won’t be paid out until verification checks are finished, so players can trust the leaderboard standings. Anyone caught multi-accounting or manipulating the leaderboard will be banned permanently.
