Upland Catches Up on UGC Review Queue, With Every Submission Through Sept. 1 Now Processed

upland catches up on ugc review queue with every submission through sept 1 now processed In Brief:

In Brief:

  • Upland (official site) says it has reached its goal of faster approvals for user-generated content. Every asset submitted up to Sept. 1 has now been processed.
  • Since June the studio has released 1,501 UGC assets, and map assets account for more than half of them.
  • Upland had promised further UGC system improvements in 2026 and now says it wants to speed up approvals even more.

Upland’s queue of user-generated content waiting for review is now clear. In a post on X, the studio said it has reviewed every asset submitted up to Sept. 1.

“We’ve hit our target of speeding up approvals for UGC assets, with all assets caught up to Sept 1st!” Upland said.

UGC Update! We've hit our target of speeding up approvals for UGC assets, with all assets caught up to Sept 1st!
A massive 1501 assets have been released since June, with over half of them being map assets.
The aim is to make things even faster in the future, getting approvals

The studio has released 1,501 assets since June. Map assets make up more than half of that number. These are the decorative items players place on their virtual properties.

Faster turnaround is the goal

Upland wants to shorten approval times further. However, its post gave no new target turnaround time and no date for reaching one.

Speed matters to creators because a submission can’t earn anything until it passes review. In UGC programs that rely on manual moderation, backlogs are a common complaint.

Upland did not say how the non-map releases split across categories. It also didn’t say how many submissions were rejected or how many are still in the queue after the Sept. 1 cutoff.

Part of a longer overhaul

Clearing the backlog builds on changes Upland made to its UGC pipeline last year. The studio’s 2025 recap said it had “streamlined user-generated content submissions, accelerating approvals and making it easier for creators to bring their ideas to life.”

The recap also promised more UGC system improvements in 2026. It named UGC as one of the core systems the team set out to fix after launching its own app chain in 2025, together with asset management and in-game messaging.

Map assets also work differently in Upland’s marketplace now. Reserved map assets no longer appear in wallet search results. Players can also sell fully decorated properties as a single bundle, which the studio described as “an entirely new marketplace dynamic.”

Creator economics

Creator income depends directly on approvals. A 5% transaction fee applies to every transaction in a Metaventure or Showroom, and Upland’s UGC royalty system gives half of that fee to the asset’s creator.

Upland has previously shown a UGC Status Check tool that lets creators see where their submissions are in the review queue. At that first preview, the tool was in beta and only accepted Kart submissions. The studio said at the time that it would open to all creators later.

By the numbers

Upland’s community was already producing assets in large numbers. In 2025, the studio counted 355,456 player-created assets and 141,106 newly minted properties.

The recap says players spent 15,414,052,559 UPX over the year. Of that total, 836,982,263 UPX came from Metaventure sales.

The team posted 190 announcements in 2025, 38 of which were developer updates. Upland’s car manufacturing feature is scheduled for 2026. It will let owners create and sell up to eight custom versions of their vehicle each year.
