Cambria’s Ben.zzz aims for a ‘nation-scale’ Genesis economy, but RSGP still has no launch date

cambrias ben zzz aims for a nation scale genesis economy but rsgp still has no launch date In Brief:

In Brief:

  • In an AMA held ahead of the TGE, Cambria (official site) founder Ben.zzz said Genesis, a single persistent MMORPG world, is the studio’s attempt at “the first nation-scale game economy.”
  • He expects the Genesis economy to be “worth millions of dollars.” As support, he noted that about $1.8 million went into last season’s prize pool in 10 days.
  • The RSGP token still has no launch date. During Cambria’s presale, the team estimated June 2026 for both the TGE and mainnet.

Cambria founder Ben.zzz wants Genesis to be the first game economy built to the scale of a nation. He set out that goal during a pre-TGE AMA about the game’s move to a single persistent world.

“We’re going for the first nation-scale game economy,” Ben.zzz said.

He said Genesis will be one persistent MMORPG world with an economy “worth millions of dollars.” To show that players have the appetite for it, he pointed to the roughly $1.8 million that reached last season’s prize pool within 10 days.

From seasons to one world

Genesis takes the place of the seasonal Gold Rush model. Until now, Cambria has run in short seasons, with prize pools funded by players. Genesis is designed as a world that runs 24/7 and never resets.

Recent seasons drew a lot of money. During Season 2, players spent $1.3 million on Charters and Energy Orbs, and the team said roughly $1.52 million in ETH was ready to be paid out to more than 20,000 players. In its Season 3 results post, Cambria said players and player-run guilds spent $1.7 million on Charters and Energy Orbs over 10 days.

According to the studio, Genesis will have persistent assets, guild treasuries, competition over resources and “high stakes war games.” Players will be able to buy individual buildings across five major cities and collect taxes on them. “Island barons” will be able to combine resources to lower transport fees and push back against city monopolies.

Restricted launch

Not everyone will get into Genesis right away. In a Sept. 21 post on X, Ben.zzz said the world will first take in “a supply-capped group of initial citizens,” and more players will be admitted in later waves.

That is a smaller opening than Cambria’s seasonal servers, which had between 3,000 and 4,000 concurrent players.

Ben.zzz called the permanent economy “one of the most challenging things I’ve had to design yet.” He also warned that players would face “upfront risk.”

Token timeline slips

The new Cambria Foundation introduced RSGP, short for Real Stakes Game Play, and said the token will “form the core of ecosystem consensus mechanisms” in the Genesis economy. The foundation has not disclosed the token’s supply, distribution plan, chain, valuation or TGE date.

Past Cambria players could accept a Genesis Event Opt-In Agreement through the game’s lobby site until Sept. 29 at 11 p.m. ET. The foundation said it will share more about RSGP before the Genesis Event.

Cambria held its public presale March 2-4, 2026. The sale aimed to raise $1 million, with a $3 million cap, at a $30 million fully diluted valuation, and the tokens were fully unlocked. At the time, the team estimated June 2026 for both the TGE and the mainnet launch. That date has now passed.

Genesis event numbers

Total volume for the current Genesis event has passed $41 million. That figure counts funds again each time players re-wager them. Cambria has earned $788,642 from the event, and $4 million has been paid out in “uncut gems” jackpots.

Dungeon Fishing accounts for $35.9 million of the volume, or 87%. The original Dungeons mode makes up $5.1 million. Dungeon keys cost $0.10 each and are bought with USDC. Weekly volume peaked on Aug. 10.

Version 0.6 launched Sept. 28. It added an early-access Pit Fights mode and Charm Cards, and it came with a rebuilt client. It is the last update before the Genesis Testnet.

Ben.zzz has said plainly that joining the persistent economy will cost players something.

“None of this will be a free lunch,” he said.
