What’s still missing
Key details about RSGP remain absent from the Cambria Foundation’s announcement, including the token’s supply, distribution, chain and valuation, as well as a TGE date. The foundation said further information on the token will be released ahead of the Genesis event.
This isn’t the first delay. In its presale post, Cambria projected that the TGE and mainnet launch would arrive in June 2026. The team then pushed the token launch back to August, again without naming a specific day. By late September, RSGP had yet to go live.
Two reward tracks
Cambria has set up two distinct distributions.
The first track is Loot Chests, which hold RSGP. According to Cambria’s blog, they are headed to “all of the degens who have stuck around in the bear market.” Wallets receive a Degen Score, reflecting Solana trading, Polymarket positions and perps activity over the last year, along with a Chad Score based on token holdings. Qualifying allocations will also land automatically in linked wallets at TGE.
The second track, the Genesis Airdrop, is the one covered by the opt-in. It relies solely on points from Cambria activities: Dungeons, player referrals, Rare Fishing in the Lobby, Bar Games like Gizmo’s Folly, Pit Fights, Duel Arena and earning a spot in Gold Rush Season 4.
Earning those points came at a price. Participation meant paying for Risk Keys and Charter costs, so securing a full allocation required genuine spending.
A smaller mainnet
According to founder Ben.zzz, the Genesis mainnet will launch as an intentionally smaller and more restrictive rollout compared with the earlier seasonal servers.
The studio intends to let in a supply-capped cohort of initial “citizens” first, restricting access to the game’s core asset loops, with the wider player base arriving in subsequent waves.
Writing in an X thread on Sept. 21, Ben.zzz described building a “permanent onchain game economy” as “one of the most challenging things I’ve had to design yet.” Where previous seasons could wipe their economies at the end of each run, Genesis has no such option.
What RSGP does
The name RSGP is short for “Real Stakes Game Play.” Per the foundation, the token will “form the core of ecosystem consensus mechanisms” underpinning the Genesis economy.
Its intended uses include treasury governance, rewards and ve-style staking. Holders who lock tokens gain fee reductions, guild advantages, in-game polls and cosmetics. Cambria’s earlier presale post stated that RSGP will not function as a game currency.
Plans for Genesis include persistent assets, guild treasuries, resource competition and what the foundation described as “high stakes war games.” The protocol and RSGP holders would steer incentives and major economic levers.
The world links Cambria’s three modes. Dungeons offer brief, real-stakes runs. Islands are persistent territories owned by players. Gold Rush is an extraction MMO in which players either escape with their loot or lose it, and its roadmap focuses on group competition, raids and crafting.
Background
Over three years, Cambria has been built in public through a series of experimental seasons. The game operates mainly on Ronin, and its NFTs are also on Ethereum.
Back in February, Cambria unveiled a public presale aiming for $1 million, capped at $3 million, at a $30 million fully diluted valuation, with tokens fully unlocked and no vesting. The sale took place March 2-4, 2026, and excluded buyers from the UK, the U.S., China and OFAC-sanctioned countries.
During the latest season, players and player-run guilds spent $1.7 million on Charters and Energy Orbs across 10 days. Without a reset button in Genesis, Ben.zzz said, there comes “a seemingly infinite amount of pitfalls.”
