Launch and Contest Details
Sky Mavis has recently announced a creative contest coinciding with the release of their new game, Axie: Den of Mysteries, a dungeon-crawler game which debuted on the Ronin network on April 30. The contest aims to incentivize the creation of user-generated content to help new players understand and navigate the game.
Submission Guidelines and Evaluation
Participants are encouraged to create beginner-friendly guides that provide a clear overview of the game, gameplay mechanics, ways players can earn rewards, and additional tips or strategies. Acceptable formats for submissions include videos, which must be no longer than three minutes, as well as X threads, articles, and infographics. Creators must upload their entries to X and tag @playAxieDOM, and submit a google form while the option to post on additional platforms remains open. Although multiple entries per participant are permitted, only a single entry is eligible for winning a prize. All entries must be submitted by May 22 at 11:59 p.m. PHT.
Prizes and Award Criteria
The contest is divided into two distinct categories: video and thread/infographic, with ten winners in each category. The video category offers a first prize of 175 bAXS, followed by graded prizes down to 28 bAXS for those ranking sixth through tenth. In the thread/infographic category, the top prize is 115 bAXS, scaling down to 18 bAXS for the sixth to tenth places. Judging will be managed by Sky Mavis and winners will be announced via the Axie Creator Program Discord.
Game Overview
Axie: Den of Mysteries, created by Onchain Heroes, challenges players to navigate dungeons as the character Buba, who starts each adventure with 100 Stamina. Every action in the game costs Stamina, and the dungeons include short runs lasting between three to five minutes, packed with enemy confrontations, loot collection, and strategic decision-making on whether to progress or retreat.
There are three primary types of loot that integrate into the game’s economy: Treasures, Shards, and Blessings. Treasures amass weekly and payout in USDC, Shards are calculated separately with a bonus pool during the initial four weeks, and Blessings grant instant USDC rewards for defeating the rare Werewolf boss. The economics of the game are designed to redistribute 90% of Key purchase revenue back to players, supporting a dynamic and engaging player experience.
Sky Mavis has committed significant resources toward ensuring a vibrant start for the game. They have seeded the first four weeks with $20,000 in bAXS and have structured the game to reward players heavily, with scaling benefits for the use of multiple Keys in a single run, fostering higher engagement levels. As it stands, Buba is the inaugural hero for players, with plans to expand the character roster in the future.
