The team behind the popular RPG game Seekers of Tokane, called Aurory, has recently announced the closure of its turn-based battler game named Aurory Tactics. The decision was taken after the team discovered cheating and fixed matchmaking within the game, despite their efforts to prevent such activities. As a result, the team has decided to ban the game in certain countries and large IP addresses.
Head of production Jonathan Campeau shared the news on platform X, detailing the plan to shut down Aurory Tactics in two phases. The first phase stops all rewarded battles in the game, scheduled to end on Monday, 4th March. This will be followed by the halt of rewards distribution on Tuesday, 5th March. The final phase will see the complete sunsetting of the game by the end of the current Aurory Tactics season on 30th April.
The closure of Aurory Tactics poses a challenge for the team, as they must now decide on the future direction of their games. Running live operations for both Aurory Tactics and Seekers of Tokane simultaneously is not sustainable, leading to the difficult decision to focus on one title. While Aurory Tactics will be discontinued, there is still hope for a potential reboot in the form of Aurory Tactics version 2, possibly in 2025.
