Axie Infinity has become the biggest decentralized application and the first in terms of revenue. The game allows players to raise and breed new pets, fight battles, and sell these pets or Axies for real money in the marketplace. Axie Infinity has been a source of earnings for many low-income families in the Philipines, the country with the most Axie Infinity players.
With a recent post, Axie revealed that the website had received 2.3 million unique visitors while the monthly volume of the marketplace has grown 334% thanks to Ronin sidechain to over 128$ million dollars. The above stats place Axie Infinity in the first place and three times bigger than the second decentralized project.
Axie infinity has around 250,000 active daily players, and with that growth, the discord server will surpass Fortnite in 15 days!
In 2018, the minimum cost for a common Axie was $2, while rare ones sold for around $100. Lately, the prices have skyrocketed with increased demand for Axies. Now a team of 3 Axies can cost $350 to thousands of dollars.
Two days ago, its 24-hour marketplace volume was at $9M, more than every single NFT project combined. In the last 24 hours, Axie Infinity players have traded almost $6 million.
Axie Infinity is growing at a rate of 5% per day as new players and teams join the game every day. Yield Guild Games has recently raised $4 million in investments to expand its Axie scholarships program to more players worldwide.
According to Gabby Dizon, co-founder of Axie and Yield Guild Games, other established esports teams, including Axiegg and Lev0x eSports, joined Axie Infinity.
Team Secret Joins Axie Infinity
The official Twitter handle of Axie Infinity announced that Team Secret – one of the top esports teams in the world – will be joining the Axie game.
Team Secrets was founded in 2014 and now has teams consisting of players worldwide for different games, including PUBG Mobile, League of Legends, and DOTA 2.
They are popular for their DOTA 2 team, which secured first place in The Shanghai Major 2016. More recently, Team secret finished 4th in The International 2019, the concluding tournament of the Dota Pro Circuit, winning a prize of $2,059,804. They have also won the OMEGA LEAGUE 2020.
