Illuvium’s announcement told players not to wait too long: “Finish what you start: once the event is over, the rewards are gone as well.”
Two tracks, one price
All Rangers have access to the Free Track. Upgrading to the Premium Track costs 800 Fuel, which matches the price of the last pass.
The Free Track includes nine rewards. They are Earth Doka (Stage 1, Level 10), Water Fliish (Stage 1, Level 20), Earth Volante (Stage 2, Level 30), Water Volante (Stage 3, Level 45), Greater Monkier (Level 30), Loulura (Level 30) and Malura (Level 45), along with 50 Fuel in drops.
The Premium Track adds Illuvials with fixed TPI values: Lesser Monkier (40 TPI, Level 20), Lura (40 TPI, Level 30), Exalted Monkier, Aapon and Grilla (50 TPI, Level 42), and Phorus and Goliant (65 TPI, Level 45). Premium also includes the All In Stoic Floralynx emote, 200 Fuel in drops and the Abyssal Chasm Challenger title.
The remaining premium rewards are XP boosts in four tiers: 80% for three days, 120% for seven days, 160% for 10 days and 40% for 60 days.
Illuvium was clear about which track it favors: “Premium is undoubtedly where it’s at for this Event Pass. The Free Track still pays real Illuvials and Fuel. Premium is where TPI, XP boosts, the emote, and the title live.”
Missions
Daily and Weekly missions both add to the same Arena Points total. On the free side, a daily mission is worth 5 Arena Points and a weekly is worth 20. Premium doubles those values to 10 and 40.
Illuvium shared two example objectives. The daily mission asks players to “get a 10-round win streak in a Ranked match,” and the weekly asks them to “play 15 Ranked matches.”
Challengers Series #2
Players who own the Premium Event Pass can register for Illuvium Challengers Series #2, hosted by Sylen. Spots are filled first come, first served.
Day One starts Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. UTC. Best-of-one rounds will take the field from 32 players to 16, then to eight. The eight finalists return Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. UTC to play a best-of-three points format.
The $500 USD prize pool will be paid in ILV. The winner gets $200, second place gets $100 and third gets $75. Fourth through eighth place earn $50, $30, $20, $15 and $10.
Following Taiga Boreal
Abyssal Chasm follows Taiga Boreal, Arena’s first Event Pass. Taiga Boreal ran from Sept. 16 to Oct. 1. Its Premium Track also cost 800 Fuel, and its rewards stopped at 500 Arena Points. That pass’s tournament finals took place Oct. 4.
Illuvium has described Event Passes as “mini Battle Passes that last shorter but happen much more often.” The Season 1 Battle Pass, by comparison, lasted 90 days and cost 3,900 Fuel for Premium.
Balance patches have arrived just as often. Update 1.18.7 came out Oct. 1. It lowered the Max Health damage of Rypter, Rypterus and Ryplance from 10%, 15% and 20% to 5%, 10% and 15%, and raised their Energy Cost from 80 to 90.
The same patch reduced Spore synergy heals to 4% and 8%. It also changed the Radiating Impact Reactor augment so its pulse deals 1% Max Health as Pure Damage per second. When the new pass launched, Illuvium’s news portal had no separate patch notes for v1.18.8.
According to Illuvium, the new pass “is built around Abyssal Chasm and the Illuvials that hunt there.”
