Matr1x, a Singapore-based NFT gaming company, has secured an additional $10 million for its ambitious mobile gaming projects. This latest influx of funds was announced last Thursday, marking a notable achievement for the company.
The latest A-2 funding round was led by Folius Ventures, with SevenX, a fellow crypto venture capital firm, playing a major role as a co-lead investor. This investment round also saw participation from various notable firms, including ABCDE Capital, Jambo, Initiate Capital, and Find Satoshi Lab, known for their work on Stepn and the upcoming Gas Hero game.
Matr1x Fire: A New Wave in Mobile Gaming
At the heart of Matr1x’s ambitious project is Matr1x Fire, a first-person shooter game designed for mobile platforms. The game stands out for its unique blend of competitive gameplay, allowing players to form five-person teams and engage in intense battles. Matr1x Fire is noted for its similarities in style and gameplay to Riot Games’ popular shooter, Valorant, but with distinct features that set it apart.
Distinctive Gameplay and Legal Distinctions
Addressing comparisons to other games like Valorant and the legal troubles faced by NetEase’s Hyper Front, Matr1x clarified their game’s distinct mechanics. Matr1x Fire, they explain, is more akin to CS:GO, focusing on gunplay and strategic shooting, devoid of heroes wielding special powers or skills.
