Mythical Games has announced that its Mythos gaming blockchain has surpassed $650 million in lifetime trading volume, marking a key achievement for the Polkadot-based chain as it prepares for new Web3 game launches in the coming months.
The company revealed strong performance metrics, including 7 million active players and over 4 million transactions, positioning Mythos as the fourth-largest blockchain by trading volume, just behind Ethereum, Polygon, and Bitcoin.
Mobile Gaming Drives Growth
According to Mythical Games, much of this momentum is coming from mobile gaming. The company said players are engaging more deeply with in-game assets when the experience focuses on gameplay rather than blockchain mechanics. “Mobile onchain gaming works because players focus on the game, not the tech,” it stated on X. This player-first approach has proven effective in removing complexity and encouraging mass adoption.
DMarket Powers Marketplace Activity
At the center of the Mythos ecosystem is DMarket, the marketplace for trading in-game items. It has now surpassed $400 million in annual NFT trading volume. Interestingly, about 20% of this activity is believed to be driven by AI agents, reflecting a growing trend in automated and intelligent trading tools within the Web3 space.
While DMarket supports popular Web2 games like CS:GO and DOTA 2, Mythical has also shared insights into onchain activity from its own titles. NFL Rivals, a mobile football game, stands out with over 6 million downloads and nearly $13 million in NFT volume. Its QuickTrade feature, designed to simplify NFT trading, has been praised as a major success. CEO John Linden described it as “the most significant thing we’ve done in web3.”
In addition to NFL Rivals, the Mythical portfolio includes Nitro Nation: World Tour and the upcoming mobile version of Blankos. However, the company is aiming higher in 2025 with the expected launch of Pudgy Party, based on the popular Pudgy Penguins IP, and FIFA Rivals, developed under the FIFA license. These titles are expected to further increase activity and user engagement across the Mythos chain.
