Nvidia Announces Affordable RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti Graphics Cards for 2025

Nvidia has introduced its latest budget-friendly desktop GPUs, the GeForce RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti, set to attract users of its popular RTX 3060 and RTX 4060 cards.

With updated specs and support for DLSS 4, the new models focus on improving 1080p gaming performance while keeping prices relatively low. The RTX 5060 will launch in May for $299, while the RTX 5060 Ti will arrive earlier on April 16, priced at $379 for the 8 GB version and $429 for the 16 GB variant.

Performance Boost With DLSS 4 Features

While these GPUs are the most affordable in the RTX 50-series, they still offer meaningful upgrades. Both models include more CUDA, ray tracing, and Tensor cores compared to previous generations. DLSS 4 support, including Multi Frame Generation, allows games to run at smoother frame rates, especially in titles that take advantage of AI-enhanced graphics.

Games such as Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows are expected to benefit, offering better visuals and performance than what the RTX 3060 and even RTX 4060 can provide. The RTX 3060 does not support DLSS 4 at all, while the 4060 only partially supports frame generation.

Unlike some previous GPU launches, Nvidia will not release Founders Edition versions of the RTX 5060 or 5060 Ti. Instead, all cards will be made and sold by third-party manufacturers. This means availability and pricing may vary depending on the brand and region.

Comparison With Other GPUs

Though affordable, the RTX 5060 Ti does show some limitations compared to the recently launched RTX 5070. It has significantly fewer cores across the board—26% fewer Tensor and ray tracing cores, and 28% fewer CUDA cores. Memory bandwidth is also lower. However, compared to the RTX 4060 Ti, the 5060 Ti brings a large boost in Tensor (73%) and ray tracing cores (34%), with a slight bump in CUDA cores.
