What came before
Stepping into the slot left by “Auric Dominion,” Season 6 follows a chapter that started June 1 and continued until July wrapped up. Its narrative centered on corruption creeping across the Arena, handing players the Sanguine Dominion as an exclusive weapon while Vermithar and Pearlwhisper showed up as Featured Foundry Weapons.
Season 4, “Reforge & Conquer,” arrived on April 1 and debuted on Immutable Play as a featured title within the Polygon hub. That update introduced faction-exclusive weapons, expanded Forge mechanics and guild leaderboards, plus the ability to burn and merge gear into new equipment.
The blueprint was laid down by the opening season. It came with a 60-day Battle Pass, PvE challenges on rotation and weekly tournaments handing out $750 in USDC, plus NFT rewards, weapon and armor chests and Vitrium, the in-game currency. Season 1 wrapped on Nov. 21.
The token sits behind all of it
Early June saw Anubika, the South American studio developing Olderfall, host a community round for wAURE. Buyers paid in USDC on Polygon, and per the studio, access was tilted in favor of regular competitors instead of people hunting a fast flip.
Its conditions break from the norm. Any tokens acquired during the round remain locked to the wallet that purchased them and cannot be transferred, meaning participants needed their Olderfall wallet. Using wAURE inside the game takes it out of circulation. A later phase is where liquidity is expected.
Branded by the studio as the Master’s Coin, the token has been positioned as what pays for tournament entries, crafting and additional systems.
Immutable and the platform layer
On March 16, Immutable and Olderfall revealed the game’s arrival on Immutable Play, linking quests and rewards to activity inside the game. The title is also featured in “Gaming on Polygon,” Polygon’s hub within Immutable Play.
Immutable Play operates a reward currency of its own — likewise named Gems — which players trade at a rate of 500 Gems per Key to enter a weekly draw offering IMX, bonus Gems, Tier Ups and extra entries. An Immutable Passport wallet is required to take part. Between May 1 and May 31, an Immutable x Olderfall leaderboard put 100,000 wAURE on the table.
On DappRadar, the game is tracked across Polygon and Nebula/SKALE. Other outlets have cited Arbitrum, Avalanche and Moonbeam.
How it plays
The loop has players managing a squad of procedurally generated fighters known as the Fallen, locking in composition and gear, and then letting battles play out automatically. Every match draws 10 energy from a 100-point daily pool, with one point restored every five minutes.
Registration happens via Gmail at play.olderfall.com and includes a complimentary Fallen, with no wallet required to jump in. N3MUS powers the weekly tournaments, which call for registration alongside a linked in-game wallet.
With over six years of digital product development behind it and three of those spent on blockchain, Anubika devoted two years to building Olderfall before adding monetization on top. The press release for the Immutable Play launch described the objective as demonstrating that web3 games can be “fun first, sustainable, and widely accessible.”
Speaking in Moonbeam’s “Why I Build” series, Leandro of Olderfall explained: “We chose Moonbeam because it’s one of the few ecosystems that shares our product-first mindset.”
Turning to design, Leandro noted: “Story comes from the world, gameplay comes from strategy, and Web3 ties it all together.”
