Onchain Heroes unveils Axie: Den of Mysteries 2.0
Onchain Heroes has rolled out Axie: Den of Mysteries 2.0, an overhaul of its dungeon crawler that brings ten-floor runs, character progression, and a final confrontation with the boss Kilnbane. Entry keys have been cut in half, from $2 down to $1, and a new competition is putting over $6,000 in prizes on the table.
The turn-based roguelike runs on desktop and mobile alike, with a typical dungeon run taking 10 to 15 minutes. A Ronin wallet is required, though an Axie NFT is not. A shared lobby serves as the hub for in-game features, socializing, and showing off cosmetics.
Every run strings together nine procedurally generated floors before the boss fight. Along the way, players gather Treasure and build out their characters via levels and Talents. Treasure totals decide how much of the weekly USDC prize pool a player takes home, and bringing down Kilnbane unlocks additional rewards.
Keys can be bought with USDC, RON, WETH, or AXS. A single key starts a run, but players may stake as many as 100, which scales both Treasure yield and Blessing payouts in step. A run that produces 100 Treasure on one key, for example, would return 500 Treasure at five keys.
Key purchases are split across three reward pools. The weekly prize pool takes 70% and settles every Thursday at 4 PM UTC. Blessings receive 18%, and 5% feeds the progressive Throne pool. The remaining 7% goes to continued development.
Taking down Kilnbane carries a 12% chance of a Blessing Gem, revealed once the run ends, which can multiply a player’s key commitment by as much as 21 times. On a 100-key run, that tops out at 2,100 USDC.
The Throne prize works differently. To earn a roll, players have to beat Kilnbane and leave the lair — runs still open when the weekly reset hits are disqualified. The winner claims 80% of the built-up pool plus the exclusive Stella skin, with the other 20% seeding the next Throne.
Odds shift depending on how many keys are spent and how large the pool has grown. With a $2,500 pool, they run from roughly one in 2,000 on a single key to one in 20 at 100 keys.
The Reborn Launch Event continues through October 22. Its $5,000 leaderboard pool pays the top 100 Shard collectors, split evenly between USDC and AXS. Shards drop across the first eight floors and pile up without any cap for the duration of the event.
Kilnbane hands out one raffle ticket for each key spent as well. Tickets are entered at the Raffle Board in the lobby, with draws on September 24, October 8, and October 22 picking five winners apiece. The prize pool covers $500 in Axie Land items, 15 Ronke PFPs, and $500 in RONKE rewards.
Bounty Board points for Den of Mysteries quests have been bumped up across every tier as part of the update.
