The trophy
Oscar Mar, Parallel Studios’ art director, designed the Community Clash Cup trophy, and there’s an NFT version too.
“The CC Cup Champion will earn a 1/1 NFT of the trophy. All CC Cup players will receive an AP version as well,” Parallel said.
How the field was built
On Oct. 14, Parallel named the 20 finalists and congratulated them on securing auto-bids to the Cup “over the past few months.” The lineup shifted during the summer. By August, Parallel had updated its list of finalists, and two auto-bids were still unclaimed.
Community Clash, which Parallel launched in July 2026, supplied most of the bids. Players who finished well at those community-level events earned a place in the finale. According to studio material, the series aimed to “democratize access to competitive gaming, welcoming a broader spectrum of players into the tournament scene.”
Each Community Clash event had a number, and many restricted which cards were legal. CC7, for instance, permitted only cards from the Haven set. Most qualifiers used four rounds of best-of-one Swiss, with decklists posted after each event.
The qualifier window ran from July 10 to Aug. 15. TILT_Zeromioda won the Singleton Alpha Set event. Head3968 won Pauper, Czar1Klas claimed the Planetfall Set event, Bullbence took Aftermath Only and Tony_PGA finished first in Deception Only.
A second route in
The Monthly Melee was another path to the Cup, built for ranked ladder players who had skipped the community circuit. Players signed up through Versus.
DualNote won Monthly Melee 1 after starting from 28th on the leaderboard. Along the way, DualNote knocked off the players ranked sixth, 10th, 12th and 13th, claiming the Melee title and a spot in the Cup.
Background
The Cup’s prize pool is far smaller than those of Parallel’s earlier tentpole events. Prize pools for the second season of the Parallel League reached up to $1,000,000. The Prime Championship winner took home $250,000, and the Planetfall Clash pool was $10,000.
Parallel lists its blog post at parallel.life/blog/community-clash-cup as the official info page for the Community Clash Cup. At the time of writing, the page showed only a title and a header image. It had no bracket format, no prize split and no list of finalists.
