A Reddit user in Germany says they have a sealed retail copy of Grand Theft Auto VI, and people online are studying every detail on the back of the box.
No one has verified that claim. The leaked photo is said to show an original retail copy of GTA 6, with the game due out on November 19, 2026. Neither Rockstar Games nor the retailer has confirmed the copy is authentic.
What appears on the leaked box
The poster said they reportedly received the copy from someone who works in retail. A post on X following the leak named the uploader as Reddit user IseelceTea. The photos cover the front and back of the box, and the back carries two screenshots nobody had seen before.
Posts disagree on how many new screenshots there are. One post on X said: “The Grand Theft Auto VI physical box has officially surfaced!! With 3 new screenshots🔥🥺”. The Reddit summary says there are two.
According to a post in Portuguese, the cover mentions online features, in-game purchases and enhanced performance on PS5 Pro.
Because the box was never opened, nobody knows yet if it holds a double-sided poster. That poster first leaked through MediaMarkt, whose ad showed the side with the cover art. The same unverified Reddit roundup also claimed that retail copies are code-in-box and contain no disc. All of these box details should be treated as unverified until Rockstar or the retailer confirms them.
Rockstar has confirmed the poster
The Rockstar Store lists a double-sided poster for $0.99, or free with any store order, and it ships shortly after launch. That is the only part of the leak with official confirmation.
Fans have been waiting close to ten years for this game, so even a blurry photo of a box was enough to set off a frenzy.
Jason and Lucia, as revealed by Rockstar
Rockstar Games has introduced Jason and Lucia as the game’s two main characters. Their story connects to a criminal conspiracy as they try to get by in a hard life. Rockstar also wants the world to feel more realistic through the way its characters behave.
Rumors that Tommy Vercetti, who led Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, might return have not been officially confirmed.
Leonida and a reportedly larger map
GTA VI takes place in Leonida, a fictional version of Florida. Its locations include Vice City (Miami), Grassrivers (based on the Everglades) and the Leonida Keys (the Florida Keys). Reports say the map is far bigger than the previous game’s, possibly three times the size, though Rockstar has not given that figure.
Cost, storage and price: what’s still unconfirmed
Rockstar has not said how much GTA VI cost to develop. Rumors and industry insiders estimate between $1 billion and $1.5 billion (about Rs 9,400 crore to Rs 14,000 crore). If those numbers hold, it would rank among the most expensive games ever made.
Recent leaks claim the game will need close to 212GB of storage. Rockstar has not announced an official size.
GTA VI launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S. Reports say pre-orders are live and the game has a listing on Amazon India. On the PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox Stores, the Standard Edition costs Rs 5,999 and the Ultimate Edition costs Rs 7,499.
