RAWR Defense Overhauls Its Mobile Build, Teases Imminent Testing

rawr defense overhauls its mobile build teases imminent testing In Brief:

In Brief:

  • On Sept. 5, RAWR Defense announced it had reworked the mobile edition of its competitive tower defense game and would launch testing shortly.
  • Built on Ronin, the title takes place within Angry Dynomites Lab’s Craft World universe.
  • Five days after the announcement, Ronin’s own account boosted the post, putting the game in front of a bigger crowd before testing begins.

A test window appears to be near for RAWR Defense, which has rewritten its mobile build.

“The mobile version just got an overhaul. Get ready to test it soon!” the team said in a Sept. 5 post.

If you LOVE tower defense games, you need to try @RAWRDefense

Nothing specific was said about timing. The announcement also skipped over whether testing covers Android, iOS or both, how many testers will be admitted, and what the sign-up process looks like.

What the game is

In the team’s own words, the project is a “Competitive tower defense game on @Ronin_Network in the @AngryDynomites’ Craft World universe!”

That situates it within the intellectual property Angry Dynomites Lab has developed since its first dinosaur NFT collection, and on the chain that hosts Craft World. Left unaddressed was the question of how — or if — RAWR Defense plugs into Craft World’s token economy.

Ronin picks it up

The announcement was quoted by Ronin’s official account on Sept. 10, five days after it first appeared.

Throughout the year, the chain has been steering followers toward ecosystem games other than Axie Infinity (official site). Angry Dynomites Lab belongs to that cohort, as do Pixels (official site), Cambria (official site) and Kaidro (official site).

The universe it sits in

Craft World reached Ronin mainnet on July 30, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. UTC — 24 hours behind schedule, which the studio attributed to problems with its service provider. Its testnet run had attracted over 2.7 million accounts.

It’s a free-to-play builder: players harvest and refine materials, automate their production lines, and contribute resources toward shared constructions known as Masterpieces. The crafting economy is anchored by four elemental tokens — $FIRE, $WATER, $EARTH and $AIR — and spans more than 25 ERC-20 tokens in total.

In May 2025, operator VOYA Games closed a $5 million round co-led by 1kx and Makers Fund. Participants also included RockawayX, Sky Mavis co-founder Jeff “Jihoz” Zirlin and The Sandbox (official site) co-founder Sebastien Borget, which lifted total funding above $6 million. Those funds were set aside for the mainnet launch and for an interoperable slate of games sharing a single player-owned economy.

November 2023 saw the studio rename itself from Angry Dynomites Lab to VOYA Games, retaining Angry Dynomites Lab as the IP’s name.

Scale and token

Roughly 60,000 players visit Craft World each month and about 9,000 each day, with some 1,500 fresh installs daily spread across browser, Android and iOS. Players are onboarded via VOYA ID, a Ronin smart wallet generated automatically, with gas covered for check-ins, claims and exchange trades.

The ecosystem’s utility token is DynoCoin. According to the studio, it is a pure utility asset with an uncapped in-game supply, built neither for value accrual nor to carry financial value.

An additional 100 million DynoCoin was minted for the treasury, of which 61 million went into liquidity pools and 39 million was reserved for future ecosystem needs, before trading opened at 0.001 USDC on Katana. Supply totals 1.1 billion. Insiders, team members and investors received none of it, and no vesting schedules exist.

The RAWR branding attached to the tower defense title has also shaped Craft World’s event calendar. July brought RAWR Together, a Pride-themed co-op event with rewards worth up to $150. August’s Rawrshine spanned 88 hours and capped individual rewards at $160. Moon Soon, themed around aliens, launched Aug. 24 with the same 88-hour runtime and the same $160 ceiling.

It remains unsaid whether RAWR Defense hooks into any of that infrastructure. Ronin’s pitch, meanwhile, stays straightforward: “If you LOVE tower defense games, you need to try @RAWRDefense”
